Also, the DLC will be sold 2 ways, some as singles, some as packs. Still waiting to see which ones are on the disc. More info as soon as I get it.

Wished you used commas but I deciphered this to be around 28 courses. Predator and Emerald Dragon are fantasy courses I think so that means they will be DLC (they better be because it's ridiculous to put those in career mode) as well as the 2 that are included as preorders so that means at least 24 other courses available.

Does this mean that we get more than the 16 from last year and they actually don't penalize PS3 users because Xbox games can't fit more courses on the DVD discs. Or are they screwing us by giving the same 16 courses and expects gamers to ante up for 12 DLC courses which is highway robbery.

If you give the Wii platform 28 courses and have no problems alienating Xbox gamers for that then the PS3 should be afforded the same luxery with the BR disc.

The game will ship with 15-17 courses on the disc. All the fantasy courses are DLC. Don't compare 360/PS3 courses with Wii courses as 360/PS3 courses average 200-245 MB in size while Wii courses average 40-50 MB in size....

Doesn't change the fact that you could fit alot more courses on a PS3 disc than the Xbox. You have almost half of the total courses via DLC when you could issue a 2nd disc with the Xbox (they did it with Forza) to compensate for the lack of DVD space.

And you are dismissing completely the added cost of doing so. Comparing a game like Forza that sells in the tens of millions of copies to a game like Tiger that sells a couple million copies is not a fair comparison whatsoever....

I don't understand why DLC will not work in career mode. What's the point of having it if you can't use it in your career?

Divot, I cannot get on EA via my ps3 and I don't have a computer, but based on what I put together from descriptions at gamestop, I figured disc courses to be (based on PGA Tour Season):
                  St. Andrews
                  Whistling Straits
                  Pebble
                  Sawgrass
                  Harbour Town
                  Bay Hill
                  Cog Hill
                  TPC Boston
                  East Lake
                  Liberty Nat'l
                  Torrey Pines
                  Firestone
                  Celtic Manor
                  Scottsdale
River Course @ Black Wolf Run
                  The Greenbriar
                  Hazeltine
Can we confirm the disc course list?
Also, are there going to be more than 17 tournaments in a season? Obviously, they would need to repeat course if they do that. One final thng does the Major events in career mode use different courses each year?

                    Re: Courses?

Per CamleeEA at the forum about DLC on the career mode:

DLC courses will be playable in PGA Tour Season offline?- I am afraid not this year. We have started work on this system but in the end we needed to focus on other additions to the game and were not able to get this into the game in a way that would have been a shippable quality feature.

Added cost of doing what? The courses have already been designed. Yeah the copying of these courses on an extra disk is so cost prohibitive even though Links on the PC would sometimes give you 3 discs for the courses to install the complete game.

Far Cry on the PC had 4 discs for installation a few years ago and I could guarantee you they had less than half the sales of the TW franchise who somehow can pay Tiger a gazillion dollars to be the face of the game but can't put out an extra disc cost wise for one platform. If that argument had any legitimacy then they could simply allow Xbox users to DL the courses on to owner's hardrives. It's a cash grab plain and simple. Don't ry and defend it any other way.

The description of Hazeltine on Gamestop's website, is wrong IMO.. Its on the 360 but not on the ps3. I would assume there are no differences between the 2 as far as course lists are concerned.

Added cost of re-working courses when they make changes and the cost of adding a second DVD. Links added additional CD's, not DVD's and Links 2003 shipped with SIX courses. Poor comparison.

Again, another poor comparison. And I can guarantee you Far Cry did NOT have half the sales of TW....I am not defending anything other than the facts. The issue is very simple....adding another DVD to TW for 360 would add additional cost to the game and would cost 360 users more than PS3 users. You also dismiss the fact that MS and Sony charge EA a fee to host the courses for download, so there is another cost you completely dismiss. Argue all you like, but the facts are indisputable.

I think Microsoft should get off their butts and develop a new system that allows its users to use blu-ray then the whole point would be moot. Thats why I own a ps3, not an XBox 360.

The reaity is, PS3 and 360 owners are far more likely to buy DLC than Wii owners. Disc size is not the hold-up. They want our cash.
