Week 10 Bristol Bay @ Pittsburgh
Vipers Take Down Steelers In A Thriller
The Vipers hold on to get their 2nd win of the season, in a game that went right down to the wire, but this time it was The Vipers who made the plays when it matter most. (The first game Pittsburgh scored 10 unanswered points in the 4th to come from behind)
In the 2nd match up between rivals, it was The Steelers who made the costly mistakes and The Vipers took full advantage of them. The first turnover gave The Vipers the lead that they wouldnt give up the rest of the game. In the 2nd quarter with just over 45 seconds left, The Steelers were facing a 3rd and 15 at their own 5 yard line, instead of running the ball and punting Coach Mike Tomlin went with a pass, hopeing that they could get the first down and run the remaining clock out. But the pass resulted in an overthrow because of the pressure by the front 4, and the pass ended up in FS Antonio Gilberts hands. The drive was capped off in a 2 yard run by FB Brain Larsen, giving The Vipers a 17-10 lead at halftime.
The 2nd Pittsburgh turnover ended the game, after scoring a touchdown late in the 4th quarter Pittsburgh recovered the onside kick, down by only 2 points due to a blocked extra point by Troy Polamalu. The Steelers were almost in field goal range when tightend Heath Miller tryed to get extra yards on a first down play when Ray Edwards striped him clean and recovered the fumble ending The Steelers chances at pulling out a comeback.
