    So... are we done?

Colorado has gone to the Pac 10. Boise State has gone to the Mountain West. Nebraska has gone to the Big 10.

    Is the storm over?

Sure, the Pac 10 may add Utah, but that wouldn't be a spark that set off another chain reaction. I am wondering if we have successfully avoided "Armageddon", or do you believe that the Big East/SEC/ACC/Big 10 have more additions to make?

Personally, I think this is it. Those three teams I already mentioned + Utah will be the only changes. And as an Iowa State fan, I am grateful for it

Big Ten will still look to be adding a team or maybe a few, but I think for the most part, they are done.

It's not over but I don't see anything major happening. Like you said, the Pac-10 may add Utah but I don't see a lot more moves coming.

Big East might add some more as a proactive measure to a future pillaging.

I am just wondering what will be done to rename the affected conferences with names that imply membership totals.

Maybe one team, but there's really no one out there that's going to add anything to the conference unless the Big East can pull a "Texas Miracle", which is highly unlikely.

There's no way the Big East is going to be able to poach away a team like Maryland, Boston College, and the like, so they'd have to resort to adding teams like ECU, Memphis, or UCF, which isn't exactly going to strengthen the conference. An out-of-the-box solution would be to add a school like TCU, BYU, or Boise State as football-only members, but I'm not sure how feasible that is.

I think Pac 10 still adds Utah, and after that, it's done for now. I think it'll pick back up again if the next few years.

Why would Montana say yes? They can actually win a championship where they're at. You know, because there's a playoff.

WVU and Pitt to the Big 12!!!

Dan Beebe, take a bow. You earned it. Tagged toes pointing to the ceiling, the Big 12 was on its way to the burial grounds until Beebe resuscitated it by doing what conference commissioners are supposed to do. He squeezed every last penny of television money available and told the remaining 10 members what that […]

If he succeeds in doing so, the Big 12 then has the power in terms of expansion plans. It can remain highly selective: Aim for adding Arkansas and Notre Dame. That would renew the Arkansas-Texas rivalry and give the conference two huge TV draws in ND and UT. Failing that, think bitter rivals Pittsburgh and West Virginia from the Big East, a move that would enrich the football conference and bring Bob Huggins back to Big 12 basketball arenas.

I don't disagree, however, they might need to add them simply so they don't go under 6 teams and jeopardize their BCS status.

Because they could actually make money at FBS. I've heard from a Penn State/Big 10 Network play-by-play commentator that the deeper an FCS school gets into the playoffs, the more money they lose due to travel, accommodations, meals, etc. And they lose money during the season as it is. Not that every school is making bank at FBS, but no one is making great money at FCS (in fact, I don't think anyone is making money at FCS, but I'm not sure about that).

The 10 remaining members (read: Texas) have agreed that they don't want one. They'll play a 9 game conference schedule and that's it.
