    #22 WVU @ #15 LSU, 9-25-10, 8:00 CST, ESPN2

Well, it turns out that this will be LSU's first true test after whatever you want to call the UNC game and disposing of Vandy and Miss Stake. Stats will disagree, but Jefferson's 10/16 for 97 yards performance against Miss Stake was flawless. Take away a few drops, and a few tips and JJ is pushing 170. Not by any means outstanding, but he was on target all night and never missed a beat. If he can repeat this performance with the help of the receivers and Steven Ridley (i can has 4.0 yards/carry?), WVU could be in trouble. But that's IF we decide to show up. Defensively, well, I've bought in to this defense.

should be a hell of a game and fun to watch though. (assuming both offenses show up)

In Death Valley at night, could get wild. Excited so see this one on Thursday night.

I think LSU will win, with the better offense IMO

      The 25th is a Saturday

but I agree. Saturday night in Death Valley is a HUGE factor. 201–59–3. Last year's loss to UF was the first night loss since 2002.

Geno Smith has been great the past two games. 32-45 for 316 yards and 1 TD at marshall 2 weeks ago including leading 2 90 yard drives for the win. This past week against Maryland he went 19-29 for 268 yards and 4 TDs. For a true sophomore I'm overly impressed seeing a WVU quarterback playing this well, especially considering he's only started 3 games. Seeing this much of a passing game should hopefully open up the run for Devine who hasn't really had too great of a year so far when it comes to breaking big runs like he usually does.

However, going into Death Valley at night. I don't give us a chance. LSU by 2 TD's. I'd be more than shocked if we get out of there with a win. Just being realistic.

Miami/Pitt is on Thursday. This is on Saturday night.

I think WVU has a chance, but it's not much of one. Geno Smith has been playing well lately so hopefully he can do what T.J. Yates did in week one.

It seems as if LSU's offense is not very good, but the defense looks scary good.

The offensive line of WVU will have to show up. If the line plays good and gives Geno protection, WVU could surprise a lot of people. I really don't think Geno or the 'Eers will be rattled or intimidated at all by the crowd. It's been a while since I've seen a QB like Geno in Morgantown.......probably since the Bulger days. He's very poised and confident, but the confidence is quiet confidence you see on the field. I know SEC fans don't like to hear it, but WVU possesses just as much speed on offense and defense as LSU does, if not more, so I don't really see an issue there. LSU is awfully darn good at home in night games though. I'm looking forward to this one.

LSU needs to try what they did against Miss St. let jefferson run a bit gain some positive yards build up his confidence or try a deep throw to our good receivers. Get him confidence right away will really help this offense, with ridley playing well lately some PA pass plays should work too.

I'm hearing that WVU is going to sport their all-blue uniforms Saturday night. Those are without a doubt my favorite uniforms, so I hope that's correct! It's also the same uniform that WVU wore when they last defeated an SEC team (Auburn, 2008).

I could see Noel Devine going off in this game, but I could also see LSU bottling him up. I'll say LSU 24 WV 21.

Although Devine has topped the century mark in all 3 games, he's due for a big one. He's yet to have that explosive game where he rips off 2 or 3 huge runs. I think it happens Saturday night and he goes for 170+ on the ground. If he gets off to a quick start like he did at Auburn last season, WVU will have a big night because that should open up the passing game for Smith. The Big East really needs this game. With Pitt's loss to Utah, UConn woeful start, and Cincinnati struggling this season, WVU could be carrying the Big East banner.....or at least they appear to be at this point in the season.

Some notes from EDSBS about this weekend (language warning on all of the following). Long ago prophesied as the end of days it looks even more likely as the hour draws near. And those of you content to view the apocalypse from home should know your final hours will be filled with the dulcet tones of the one and only Ron Franklin.

                              I wouldn't get too excited.

Auburn's defense last year was laughably bad and LSU's appears to be pretty solid, especially against the run.

WVU's hope is defensive pressure on LSU's embarrassingly awful QBs
