Since The WNBA Can't Sell, Why Not Add Them In Future NBA 2K Games?

We all know the WNBA can't sell to the masses so why not make use of them and add them to future NBA 2K games in the future like how Live did with FIBA teams or how EA's NHL series has minor league hockey teams and Baseball games has minor league baseball teams.

Alot of us like to play sports games on par with the real sports season. Madden for NFL season, 2K for NBA season, ect., ect. I don't really like baseball and besides baseball in the summer the WNBA season is underway. So instead of abandoning my NBA 2K video game after NBA season is over I might just pop 2K in and play some WNBA games and after a few games of the WNBA it might just bring me back to playing 2K. LOL.

It might be a good idea and 2K might gain some more female customers. I know somewhere out there that there's gotta be some little girl who is hoping somebody makes a WNBA game but reality is it won't sell as a stand alone game. Let's grant these girls their wishes and add them to the game. I am not a WNBA fan but after watching my hometown team capture their 2nd WNBA title this past summer it struck me that why haven't their been a WNBA game out there. Then reality hit me: Beacuse it won't sell.

Only problem I see why this will never happen is because men and women from both leagues moves and shoots differently and I don't know if the current 2K engine is capable of switching up different styles of how men and women moves on the court, jump, shoot, steal, ect.

Probably not a bad idea but doubt it will happen. I actually watch the WNBA and enjoy it. Some of those girls could give some guys a run for their money. My favorite player is Tamika Catchings. The Pacers could use her to teach Defense,LOL.

Do you doubt it because of the engine? Waste of time in developers view? Can you be specific?

I don't see why this will hurt sales if anything it will boost up sales. We all know the WNBA will never sell as a standalone game. I say what the heck just add them in future 2K's.

just a guess but probably the sim engine would be hard to duplicate the woman. They would probably get more sales if they put FIBA in the game. Personally I want them to bring back college hoops. It would be cool if the college hoops could be added in but doubt that could work either. i would actually play a WNBA game if they made 1.

No it is a waste of disk space when they could (should) use that space for new game modes/features/animations/commentary/graphics etc etc.

How? Are u being sexist because the WNBA is played by women? Be specific about how u think it will give the WNBA a bad name?

I do like to watch the WNBA sometimes, and I think they play good basketball. But 2K can hardly handle all NBA player faces, jerseys and courts. Adding more work for them may hurt the whole package.

I'd say, they should stay with the NBA and make it better - gampelay, graphics, animations, physics and all the little things (accessories, player routines etc.). I wouldn't mind if they took some "spare time" to fix the accessories, it just never gets better.
                      My Specs:

                      ZX Spectrum
                      CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
                      GPU: Monochrome display
                      RAM: 48 KB
                      OS: Sinclair BASIC

What I'm saying is before 2K even thinks about adding WNBA players, make sure game modes/features/animations/commentary/graphics/etc is as perfect as humanly possible. Obviously this will never happen so WNBA players will never be added.

Not to mention needing specific animations just for WNBA players (jumping vertical, contact animations being lighter, signature shots, more lay-up animations since most can't dunk, etc). It's just too much work when this is a NBA game not a WNBA game and disk space is limited. In order to add things to the game, things must be removed. You want certain NBA things to be removed just for WNBA things? I wouldn't and that would piss me off.

It's not just adding WNBA players and say '"here you go." They have to play like them too hence what I wrote above.

Bad idea all the way, I hate woman basketball, it's so dry and not really that good. They're are some talented female basketball players but nowhere near male talent. I can't watch it so why would I play it.
