Off-season progression issues?
In my Association with the Wizards, I traded Arenas for the number 1 pick in the offseason during the draft, got Harrison Barnes from UNC. He was an 83 overall with an A+ potential, but 2 seasons later, he hasn't improved one point in overall in either of the 2 seasons. What gives? John Wall gained 4 overall points after his rookie season, so why won't Barnes improve? anyone have any ideas?Tags: None -
Re: Off-season progression issues?
some people have found that POT doesn't really affect progression. it relates to trade value instead. guys will progress based on how they perform primarily - like wall in your season. In my Association with the Wizards, I traded Arenas for the number 1 pick in the offseason during the draft, got Harrison Barnes from UNC. Re: Off-season progression issues?
yeah progression just means how good they can be not how good they will be. I had a player with great potential 88 i think but he was a 67 overall so only got about 11 minutes per game year one i hoped by year two i could start him but after 1 year no progression so i sent him to the d league so he can progress there without me having to start him cuz he sucks but after being in the d league he still sucked.
Just like in the real nba there are players drafted for "potential " but never end up being goodComment

Re: Off-season progression issues?
IMO this problem with the potential rating is probably one of the biggest issues that should be addresed in the patch when it comes out. I was trying to build a 1979 roster with draft classes for the 80's, but it seems imposible to build a player with his real rookie rating as he never progresses during the offseason; this issue seems to happen with all the CAPS in association no matter how much playing time. I don't want to end up building a 99 rated rookie jordan, bird or magic in a draft class to deal with this offseason progression issue.Last edited by manecodx03; 10-20-2010, 06:54 AM.Comment

Re: Off-season progression issues?
Barnes is my starting SG, plays about 35-40 minutes a game. Hell of a season in his first year, 19.5 ppg, 7 assists per game, won rookie of the year. Is progression in any way related to coaching? it would make sense, but also wouldn't describe why Wall was improving while Barnes wasn't. Barnes has all of the tools he needs to progress but its just simply not happening and its frustratingComment

Re: Off-season progression issues?
oh and btw it was a draft class i downloaded off 2k share, i may go back into the draft to look at the other players and how they have progressed. has anyone else been noticing this with custom classes? maybe its just a little glitch?Comment

H.Barnes = create a player (you will actually have to use training camp for these guys in the offseason.Comment

This may be your problem
Thanks to CWSapp
He came to the conclusion that when you edit a player from the generated draft class, that player will keep will progressing to his original POT rating...
For example,
Joe Plain was a 67 rated POT but I made him into Kyle Singler from Duke and edited his 67 to a 85....The game still see's Singler as a 67 POT instead of a 85, hence the random effect will see on progression...Last edited by Jukeman; 10-20-2010, 05:13 PM.Comment

Re: Off-season progression issues?
newsflash: people want to DL draft classes with accurate faces and whatnot for projected players, barnes, knight and in 12 quincy miller , austin rivers. they dont wanna play pretend with generated rosters. This may be your problem

I suppose you could start with a generated class and edit the faces and whatnot but who wants to do that when their are great classes out?
edit**
currently im scouring 2k share for the best 2k11 and 12 mocks in terms of player models, faces, gear.
then, when rashidi refines his tendencies and attrib 4 THIS year's rookies i will then take the most realistic looking draft class in terms of player models and combine the to. (giving credit where due, not going to start a thread or advertise but
anyone interested lemme know. it will not be until rashidi finishes attrib/tend/touches for THIS years rookies. (ex: j.wall,e.turner,aminu,favors,cousins. also i will look at different styles to get a better idea:
spread 4's, bangers, point forward types, scoring pg, pass first. all that.
anyone interested PM me.Comment

Re: Off-season progression issues?
Newsflash: What are you going to do after you use those two draft classes? You have to start using fictional draft classes eventually homie. Don't speak as if your opinion represents everyone. And for the record, almost all of those draft classes have issues because people altered the potential rating. Therefore you are going to have the same issue as the OP. Personally I don't care whether my draft class is real or fake as long as the players play the way they should and progress appropriately.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Re: Off-season progression issues?
Actually let me rephrase that cause I don't want to come off as a prick and I want the best draft classes whether I'm the one that created it or not. All I'm saying is man is read the post that Juke made about potential and what I discovered about it. Just try to take that in to consideration so that you can make the best draft classes possible. Good luck.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

- you and jukeman like to pretend.
i play online until the patch i have 3 good drafts so far,and will expand as college and high school bball tipoff.
i will be controlling around 10 teams, just the general manager for some.
i will burn that bridge after 3years of association after a patch and assuming no big trades happen IRL,and no "roster update improves gameplay" that just makes you completely wanna start your association over (we ALL do it.)
im actually quite good@converting rashidi's ratings/tendencies to rookies as i saw how he did it last year, i analyzed the analyzer.
ps. no worry for competition on draft classes. these r only available to friends.Last edited by tgballin; 10-22-2010, 05:42 PM.Comment
