Can we help make MVP 2012 happen?

With 2KSports' MLB exclusivity nearing its end, are there any signs EA is bringing back the MVP franchise?

For all the MVP diehards out there -- can we create some online buzz? Let's get Peter Moore's attention!

I don't see how EA could put out a good product to compete with the other developers that are 5+ years into the current generation of baseball games. They would probably go for an arcade style Slugfest or Bigs type game that is lower budget and can go for that sort of audience exclusively.

I guarantee EA could out-do the 2K series in one release cycle. But that's not saying much. The Show on the other hand would be extremely hard for them to beat on the PS3. If I were them I'd release MVP for XBox only for a year or two just to get PS3 owners salivating over it, otherwise it could just get looked over cause MVP and the Show are very similar in the way they present the game.

Plus, 2k12 will still be exclusive. '13 is the first year you could get MVP.

I think it's ego-centric (I mean that in a global sense, not to the OP), that end-users can influence these companies, especially the major players, to make anything. It's a business move and they are not focused as much as what you want versus what can sell. For example, watch this lacrosse game that was recently made. By today's standards, from the little I've seen, it's laughable. Financially it will fail on 2 levels.... as a product it is not attractive and by and large only lacrosse enthusiasts, plus/minus 8, will most likely buy it. So why make it? Why do you think the exclusivity rights were at first pursued and then came to fruition? Money.

So your enthusiasm for a certain sports game, passionate as it may be, will have no influence on a given company...... they do this every day and have to make financially responsible decisions.

I get what you're trying to say but from what I've heard from various people around this site, the people at EA are just as excited to bring MVP back as the consumers are.

I loved this game it still has great replay value> if they stayed on track with this game I think baseball video games would be a good deal farther. It is a long shot but its so worth it.

While EA can't make a basketball game worth playing they did a great job with baseball. While they could probably easily beat out 2k's version they would probably still suffer in sales because of The Show. The SCEA guys understand the game of baseball and thats why it is so realistic while I am not sure 2k guys are as big of baseball fans. Although EA has been known to go from good to crap in a matter of a year before so I would not bet the farm on them developing anything great.

Yea, I'm right there with ya on that. I think they can out-do 2K pretty easy (but I personally think 2K's is one of the worst baseball game series ever made). I'm not so sure with the Show and even if they did it would be hard to generate enough buzz to make it sell. That's why I said they should develop it for Xbox only the first couple of years. If it's any good it'll create enough buzz to peak the attention of the PS3 owners and have them wanting the game. But like you said, an EA game can go to crap in a year's time (see NBA Elite or Madden 06) so there's no telling what we'd get. Baseball always has been a pretty solid sport for them though (I think it's because there's less moving people at one time to worry about lol).

A 360 exclusive would not be a bad thing if they came back. That way they could stick it to 2k and get back at them a little for basketball and it sounds like 2k made a good football game although i never played it. Personally I don't care for NBA2k11 to many flaws and glitches for me I know I am in the minority but I like sim stats accurate and there not. I hope one day EA does make baseball again and hope that it is good because companies in competition is a good thing. I think what we have saw in Football games over the past few years proves that as well as even though EA made basktetball 2k has always known they can't come close so I think thats why there crap is bugged out.

I know the MLB is supposedly looking to make the rights available for multiple parties once it is up with 2k. Either way I hope EA will get back to making baseball games. I'm close to buying a PS3 just for The Show & the Bluray

I would buy a copy of MVP 05 with a 2011 roster update in a second.
Let alone if EA came back on to the scene to resurrect the series..?

MVP has/d a huge underground following and EA was well aware of it.
I read that the team continued to work on scratch copies for a next gen release...not sure how true that was.

You won't hear much agreement on this forum, but I think that in it's day, MVP was the best game ever. Sure, The Show has the newer technological capabilities, but EA really nailed it with what they had.
