CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has fired Perry Clark after the former Tulane and Miami coach went 10-21 in his fourth season with the Islanders.
Athletic director Tim Fitzpatrick said Monday that success in men's basketball is "critically important" to the athletic program at A&M-Corpus Christi.
Clark was 54-71 with the Islanders after spending three years as a television analyst before he was hired. He replaced Ronnie Arrow, who started the program in 1999 and led the Islanders to the NCAA tournament in 2007 before leaving.
Clark was fired at Miami in 2004 after going 25-33 in the two seasons after he took the Hurricanes to the NCAA tournament. He made three NCAA appearances at Tulane.
Clark is 304-270 over 19 seasons.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening To -

http://www.ajc.com/sports/kennesaw-s...le-863877.htmlFormer DePaul and Florida State coach Pat Kennedy has been fired at Towson.
According to multiple sources, Kennedy was informed of the decision on Monday morning.
Kennedy spent seven years at Towson and compiled a 72-142 record, including a 4-25 overall mark this season.
The Tigers were winless in 18 tries in CAA play and lost to Drexel in the first round of the league tournament.
Kennedy was also a head coach at Iona, Florida State, DePaul and Montana.
Kennesaw State fired coach Tony Ingle and his assistants Monday, saying the school has a serious problem with the academic progress of student-athletes in the men’s basketball program.
PEORIA -- Jim Les was fired Sunday as Bradley's basketball coach, ending a nine-year run that featured an upset of Kansas in the first round of the 2006 NCAA tournament.
The Braves were only 12-20 this season, including 4-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Les played at Bradley and for seven seasons in the NBA before moving into coaching. He was 154-140 overall with a 74-88 in the Missouri Valley, and took his team to the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament in 2006.
Less than two days after Eastern Washington closed its men’s basketball season with a 79-70 loss to Weber State in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament, Eagles head coach Kirk Earlywine was informed that his contract will not be renewed.

Earlywine learned of his dismissal during a Monday morning meeting with EWU’s athletic director Bill Chaves, who, when questioned about the motive of the move, expressed a desire to “make better progress – certainly within the conference – in the future … and, hopefully, this affords us that opportunity.”Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: 2011 Coaching Carousel
Oklahoma fires Jeff Capel.
Oklahoma has fired basketball coach Jeff Capel, a university source confirmed to The Oklahoman.
The decision was made after meetings Monday. Capel's buyout is expected to be between $2 million and $3 million.
"We just felt we couldn't afford to sit here and wait another season," the university source told The Oklahoman.
Capel coached the 2009 Sooners to an NCAA Regional championship game, but OU has finished 13-18 and 14-18 the last two seasons. The Sooners are under an NCAA investigation concerning reported improper payments to former OU center Tiny Gallon. Retention of players has been a problem and attendance has wained.
Capel compiled a 96-69 record in five seasons at OU, making two NCAA Tournament appearances. But the Sooners experienced their first back-to-back losing seasons since 1967 and failed to make the postseason in three of Capel's five seasons.Comment

Re: 2011 Coaching Carousel
I'm interested on how Jim Weaver will treat Seth. I know that he's a fiercely loyal man, but I mean, 4 straight years of not being good enough to be part of the NCAA Tourney's gotta mean something. Granted, Seth did build this team from the nothingness that was Ricky Stokes' teams here in Blacksburg. What do you think, VTPack?Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: 2011 Coaching Carousel
The only way Seth is leaving will be on his own accord. He has built a lot at a school that wasn't anything in basketball. He has also secured his best recruiting class at Virginia Tech. Next years team has a shot to be solid again.I'm interested on how Jim Weaver will treat Seth. I have heard; all rumors of course, that Seth and the higher ups in the athletic department butt heads quite often. It wouldn't surprise me for that to be true.YNWAComment

Interesting rumors. Seth does strike me as someone really hard-headed, but I'm shocked to think that Weaver would be so as well, since he's let Beamer walk all over him.The only way Seth is leaving will be on his own accord. Re: 2011 Coaching Carousel
Was really hoping to see Stansbury's name on this list, but everything I am hearing out of Starkville seems to suggest he is going to get one more season....
I'm sorry but when a guy transfers out of your school like Hansborough did a few years ago and turns around and says, "I liked the team concepts they were teaching at Notre Dame" it says a lot about what MSU is trying to do. Pass 2/3 times and jack up a three is not good basketball coaching.Golf: Bubba
MLB: Braves
Nascar: Smoke
NBA: Heat
NCAA: Florida & Miss State
NFL: Whichever team currently has the most of my favorite college players
NHL: Caps
Tennis: The Joker & Sloane Stevens
WWE: Dean Ambrose
Misc: Anybody wearing a Team USA jerseyComment
