Re: Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)
OMG!! Some people will find a potential negative in ANYTHING according to some of the posts in this thread. The only issue a had with this article was, ""Any given Sunday" isn't just the title of a bad football movie....", stop hatin on Wiily Beamen! LOL. Aside from that, ALL this info is gold I tell you, solid gold!
After all the understandable complaints that have been about how lifeless and void of immersion next-gen Madden has been, EA is finally doing something substantial about it. Yet, some people still have potential issues with this stuff?
Maybe I am completely misunderstanding what I just read in the article and if so, someone help set me straight. It seems that a whole laundry list of issues various people have had with the game, from players not performing like their real life counterparts to player ratings not mattering to CPU teams have no rational logic system to predetermined player progression to inflated roster updates to no difference between a pass rushing 3-4 LB from a run stopping 4-3 LB to no dominant Olineman and many more, have been addressed with these features.
Sure, it might not work perfect in Madden 12, in fact, I am pretty sure it will have some issues but SO WHAT? We finally have a TRUE sim foundation for player performance and not some half-arsed band-aid to cover a gaping wound like in the past.
I can be as critical as anyone about next-gen Madden, hell, Madden period but I gotta give credit where credit is due. The effort the EA football team has put into these features, along with everything else we all ready know about, has me agreeing with what Cam Weber stated in my sig.
Madden 12= G.M.O.A.T.!!!! IMOComment

Yep...by this time last year I knew I wasnt buying because they stated franchise mode hadnt really changed.
They said the PREVIOUS year that it was going to be changed last year, but it was just an empty promise.
This clearly is not an empty promise.Comment

I'm VERY excited for this game with each little piece of what seems like great info coming out. I've been like this in the past but that was just because it was Madden, now i'm actually excited cause I originally planned to actually not get it but all this interesting info is winning me back.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

I thought the same thing too at first. But then I thought about it a bit more and I can see where they're coming from. Say Vick's overall is a 92 (just a guess). At times he can certainly play as poorly as a 72 OVR player so I suppose 20 pts isn't too big of a stretch, but I think 15 is prbly closer to what it should be IMO.Comment

Agreed Roadman. EA finally giving the fans what they asked for. It might not be totally here this year. But this is a start. I'm loving it right now and even more on Monday when the main blog comes out.

Re: Madden NFL 12 - Any Given Sunday In Franchise Mode
"Tom Brady is a playoff performer. He's good in the regular season, but something kicks in during the playoffs that boost his ability to win games. Mark Brunell has become a mentor. His role is to support the development of Jets QB Mark Sanchez. Having Brunell as mentor has Sanchez learning and improving at a faster rate. Adrian Peterson is fumble prone. It's in his head now. In big moments, he's more likely to cough up the rock. Sadly, that's his role right now on the Vikings. "
This paragraph just sold the game to me. This is pretty huge.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 - Any Given Sunday In Franchise Mode
Peterson had 1.. ONE... Uno fumble this past year. So this "gets in his head" and he starts fumbling like mad in the game? And Brady and the Pats? Counting the super bowl in 2007 they are 0-3 in the playoffs including 0-2 at home. I may be in the minority but I am always nervous when i hear that games add "Intangibles" and "streaks" they are very subjective. I am old school, let the stats speak for themselves
-NFL record for most consecutive wins in post season: 10 (broke record of Green Bay's Bart Starr).
-Most consecutive post season wins (college and professional combined): 12
-3 Super Bowl victories
-2 Super Bowl MVP awards
-Most completions in a Super Bowl (32 in Super Bowl XXXVIII)
-Most career Super Bowl completions (100 in four games)
-Highest completion percentage in a single game, minimum 20 attempts (26 of 28, 92.9%, against Jacksonville in 2007 AFC Divisional roundComment
