Player-Lock / Defensive Reverse Cam Petition

Will we see the Player-Lock camera on D that we've had in NCAA the past two years? This would be huge, imo. I really love using Player-Lock and the fact that the camera flips to behind the player you are locked on to really freshens up playing defense.

Let's make it happen with a patch current supporters:

I would love it too, but they already came out with the presentation blog and nothing about camera lock.

online team mode makes u play from that view which i love
just wish head to head or franchise mode had that camera view and
now ea going take it out team play heard about that in one ea twitter it said it even i dont have a twitter account

player lock is needed

Has anybody asked a Madden dev directly about this? I am not so much concerned about the camera view as I am about the player lock feature being added. Does Madden 11 allow a user to switch to a WR and let the CPU control the QB? If not, we need player lock.

I just sat here a minute ago and realized how much I want this feature. Me and my friend play franchise together and we always control the CPU teams that each other play against, every week. I hate that we end up trying to make CPU teams play the same way as our user teams.

Player lock would allow me to have a minimal influence on CPU teams, by just controlling ONE on field offense/defensive position/player, never the QB, the whole game. Plus, I would just use Gameflow so the CPU Team would execute their preset Gameplan.

I really want this added BACK! LOL

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?

If that's true, well, I'll probably never play online. I just don't like playing online 1v1. If I want to play 1v1, I'll play the CPU. Online head-to-head doesn't feel like online. Multiple people, as in more than 2, is a big part of online for me, because most of what I play online is shooters.

Besides that, football is a TEAM SPORT, and OTP is probably the closest we will get to 11v11 online football in quite some time.

The Road to Glory camera would RADICALLY improve the feeling of authenticity in Superstar mode. The camera angle in NCAA makes you feel like you are TRULY, on the field. After playing as a FS for Cal all four years and getting drafted by Miami, to find that the RTG camera angle STILL hadn't been added to Madden had to be one of my most DISAPPOINTING Madden moments ever. You had me sold on your RPG mode and then Madden blew it.

I wonder if EA knows how much the player-lock for Madden will improve the game as a whole. It is really, "Superstar Mode" for hardcore Madden fans. Especially combining it with NCAA; it is the most complete single player experience football gaming has to offer: the ability to draft players from your NCAA dynasty, going where YOU SHOULD GO in the draft, as well as allowing the players to customize their dynasty/franchise as they see fit.

EA, help yourselves out; add player-lock to Madden and create the most immersible football RPG ever,... without even really knowing it,... apparently.

one thing i always wanted to be able to do, in madden and ncaa, is play defense from the "god" view only flipped around. i feel like it would be more realistic since youd be facing the offense instead of playing from the same view you play offense on. just my 2 cents

IE the Superstar Mode defensive position camera. +1, I love that camera.

Man I love that camera. It makes playing defense seem as important as playing offense on the game. I mean like, on Madden, defense is just something I do to get back on offense. On NCAA, I enjoy playing defense as much as offense because of that camera. I really wish they would do that, but if we haven't heard about it yet I doubt it is in.

No one would be stopping you from doing that. You can play that way in NCAA. Player Lock is an option. Nothing wrong with offering gamers multiple ways to play the game.

If Online Team Play were being taken out of the game, I'd know. Since I haven't read this anywhere except for pabryant's statement, I wouldn't put too much stock in it...

This has been a feature I have wanted ever since NCAA included it in their game. Make defensive 10x more enjoyable and hope they have added it. Hope we can get an answer on this soon.

This is how a feel too. I personally don't know about the camera view but player lock itself, has the potential to be enjoyable in Madden. That's what some people don't seem to understand around here is that in spite of all the potentially great features being added this year, other people still desire the little things for complete enjoyment.

For example, one of the best marketing tools I have ever experienced with Madden, happened this year with the Presentation Sizzle video. The reason it "connected" with me was because of the CUSTOM MUSIC EA included with it. Play that same sizzle video with just the actual in-game audio and there probably isn't much sizzle to it. Then, for whatever reason, they leave out custom music for Madden but it's available in NCAA for, I think, a second year. Huh?

I understand the whole intention of trying make NCAA football's feature set, different from Madden's feature set, so EA can sell both. However, it would make more sense and they would probably have better results if they shared ALL gameplay and general feature sets, while representing the individual nuances of collegiate/professional football.

Player lock, custom music, rattled players, DPP, Coaching carousel, player editing, online file sharing, etc, should NOT be exclusive to one of these EA football titles and not available in the other. I am no marketing mogul but that just seems like a recipe that leads to some frustrated football gamers, not increasing the chances of those gamers buying both.

no they will have team play but just taking away the team cam when u play D u cant see who behind u or where they r they going take the camera view out and now use 1 vs1 camera view for defensive to me this sucks since u can see everything its more challenge when u play linebackers cant really see where wr or te is like my friend is the best lb out there on team play i tried i suck adn i moved to cb we just not happy 1 bit they take team play camera out we love how u on bottom of the screen when u play D and u cant see where people our sometimes

1 vs 1 camra u on top and u can see everyone i like more challenge i just hope thye have a option for camera view some us just love this view if ea takes it out i pro not even buy madden 12 team play is all i play on madden
