EA is seriously stepping their game up

Last year's game was a massive move forward in the series. And now... Wow!

    So far we already have....

    Team specific traditions
    Coaching carousel
OD coaching contracts (which are HUGE for those who go 8-4 at bigtime schools and never get in danger of being fired).
    Massive Zone Coverage improvements.
Ability to sim, call plays, make subs in OD games via your computer.
    Custom Playbooks

Absolutely incredible confirmed list in just one year. Mad props to you EA Sports.

I can't wait to play the game. I will be completely sold now if we can have confirmed coach ratings outside of the Prestige.

Ditto to your sentiments. Seriously, Madden and NCAA stepping it up in a huge way this year.

Feels good to be a football freak again.

Yep, I am impressed so far, if QBs scramble the way they suppose to, like they do in real life, then this will be a killer year for football.

Hopefully the commentary has been improved too, if not, then I will just turn off commentary like I always do.

The good thing is you even forgot to mention maybe the biggest of them all in custom playbooks.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch...

They're basically casting their line and all the little fishies are bitting like mad.

They control the content here. When the final product arrives they won't be able to hide anything anymore. I'll wait until then.

2011 may very well be the breakout year in sports for EA in this current gen.

Re: EA is seriously stepping their game up

I agree, they are stepping up, but in large part due to the OS community.

The OS community has played a huge factor in my opinion with it's persistence over the years.

Also, don't discount what our forum has given EA from an education standpoint. This game was built by us whether you believe it or not.

EA did their part by placing guys on the development team who listened and continue to listen. I don't think anyone in this forum can dispute EA cares about this game and it's customers.

I don't know about you guys but EA has earned my respect, and if they continue this path, they have a loyal customer for years to come.

No doubt this has the potential to be the deepest sports game since College Hoops 2K8. Mad props to EA, and the developers.

The zone coverage was so horrendous in NCAA 11 that they had to reassure people that it would be fixed in NCAA 12. I don't think fixing a glaring bug is "stepping their game up." That's fixing a huge mistake that they created.

NCAA 06 had custom playbooks. I don't think taking 6 years to add an OLD feature to next gen games is "stepping their game up."

Yeah thats makes the best atomosphere, since Dynamic commentary is a little tougher for football games than basketball IMO (even 2k gets repetitive every game with certain things) Its best to turn em off

But I will say this, since stat banners were said to pop up more frequently I will give them a try to see how or if they relay the stats in Dynasty n etc. Instead of my RB having 400 yards 4 TDS 120 REC YArds and saying "this Back is having a monster game"(and then silence).

You do realize that two separate generations means completely different coding?

Some of the coding might be similar but it's not a simple cut and paste job like people make it out to be. You pretty much have to base where EA has gotten from the next generation onward. It's not a matter of 'The PS2 had this why dosn't the PS3'. If it's already been coded of course the previous generations will keep things that the next generation may not have.

Just saying shooting down EA when they are actually improving several things is hypocritical. Let them get some praise for doing some good.

If your running back goes for 520 yards of total offense a game you need to step your sliders up, thats just not sim
