As much as I'd like this to be true, it's already been shot down by EA (see previous posts). And there's no way they'd wait until now to announce it's coming PC. It's not. As for sales "through the roof". Nope. That's why they ditched Madden a few years back. There just aren't enough PC sports gamers to support the product. I wish they'd give us another chance but I doubt they will.

Re: NCAA Football 12 For PC?
You don't know much at all about the industry then. The simple fact is there is far, far, far, far, far, far, far more piracy on the PC then there is on consoles, and yes that is why more, and more publishers have abandoned, and or drasticly cut down the amount of games they release on the PC.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 For PC?
I cant even begin to imagine the mods that will surely be created. We're talking about any and every stadium you can imagine, era specific equipment packs (with EVERY single piece of equipment you can name I'm sure), every uniform ever to be worn, a.i. tweaks, and I'm not even dreaming. If its released on PC you WILL see this exact list plus some other **** I haven't mentioned. Damn.
If EA want it to be, modding can be effectively impossible to do.Comment

As recently suggested by the industry (citation needed, cbf'd right now), in real terms, game rentals could possibly have a stronger "negative" effect on the gaming industry than piracy does. After all it effectively lets gamers play full games sharing the cost of the media itself between possibly thousands of people. Remember, a lost sale because someone rented a game instead of buying it and found it was crap is still a lost sale. Publishers and developers don't seem to factor in their product's quality when talking piracy so why do it when talking lost sales to rentals. A crap game that can be finished via rental? who cares, they lost a sale. Quality be damned.
It's a convenient excuse when games sell poorly. Nevermind a game like Sins of the Solar Empire sold well on PC with literally no anti piracy measures in place a all, it's always the invisible arm of piracy's fault when a PC game does poorly. Developers let themselves believe this far too easily.
The more plausible reason PC gaming has seen a decline in focus (not necessarily release numbers - I haven't seen stats to back this claim up yet) is because consoles are simply more profitable and it makes more sense to focus the majority of resources on the more profitable sector. PC gaming offers a more consumer oriented experience but the consumer has spoken - we like what makes it easier for companies to profit, so console it is. Like fast food and pop music and reality tv.Last edited by Nza; 06-13-2011, 08:50 PM.Comment

Sorry dennis500 but I think NZA's well thought out response outweighs your "far, far, far, far ,far..." declaration on piracy.
And NZA's response if more logical an explanation as well.Comment
