Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns

One thing I would really love to test is importing teams from Teambuilder with all the names and stuff and seeing if it happens with them as well. I haven't gotten around that yet though. I already used 11/12 of my TB slots d/l my old HS conference teams.

I would love to get 12 good rosters from the Big 10 imported from TB though and test it out. Of course I'm 99.9% sure the issue with recruits will still be there, but maybe you can play the first 4-5 years of Dynasty with the orignal players being correct tendancies.

I've beta tested so many computer games over my last 20+ years of computer gaming that I have learned to try and post the facts and not be to judgemental :P ... though I must admit in some other posts on this years game I have been a little judgemental, I'm only human.

I still wish they would make this game on the PC though. They are so much more powerful than the current consoles now and there is no wait for 2 weeks for MS or Sony to approve patches, blah blah, we could have had a patch within a day or 2 for a PC game.

Any way you shake it the roster glitch has you by the throat and is taking a large dump on your face!
Are we sure about that? so even if you don't edit the recruits will still be messed up?

Yes that is a fact. Played Temple in the sixth year of my dynasty and the QB who I did not touch or edit at all scrambled arounf 15 times on me. He had a 64 or 65 speed rating.

This sounds like a simple fix. Its gotta be a coding error.

Guys, don't forget the fact that they could conceivably fix this with a tuner instead of a patch.Tuners do not have to go through the Microsoft approval process.

Now, last year they released tuners at the same time as patches. I have no idea why, but it's possible they could release them separately this year.

Okay, I'm the farthest thing from an EA apologist, but if these are the known changes, then it seems possible to work within/around these limitations.

It seems like the only real, tangible effect of this tendency switch would happen at the QB position. Regardless of whether HB or WR were labelled "speed" or "balanced," they would still be just as fast or agile as their ratings suggest, so I'm not sure what difference the tendency makes there. With DBs, they'd still be just as good or bad at man/zone/tackling as they were before, and coaches actually control the global defensive tendency to go for knockout blows.

Can anyone demonstrate that the change in tendency at these other positions has a clear and significant impact on how players play to or away from their ratings? If not, then this might not be such a big deal.

Tuner updates aren't going to fix this problem! This is a more complicated issue for a tuning update to take care of.

Not sure how you know that for a fact. I believe, if I recall correctly, last year tuner updates were used to alter progression in dynasty.

Hard hitters wont go for the bit hits and stuff like that as much as well. Stuff like that could happen not sure if it is but the fact guys are saying the game plays different with default rosters over named rosters tell me they are having an affect.

Now I brought up the fact before that if the AI looks at this trate setting at all when it does progression it could possibly mess that up as well. EA would have to answer that though. They dont seem to be chiming in on this thread at all though.

I was wondering if that might contribute to the bump and run coverage being so prevalent, seeing as how the CPU thinks it has a team of "balanced" or "hard hitter" dbs and presumably fewer "coverage".

And i think EA's absence is incredibly conspicuous. Either they are too embarrassed or too afraid of ignorant backlash. I guess they could just not care that much, but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

This may be the case, or it may not. It would certainly be nice to have an official word one way or the other.

In the mean time, I know that if this were The Show's forums there'd be a calculus project in progress to figure out which ratings to alter and to which degree in order to balance things back out. They're masters at turning problems into tips and workarounds over there.

I keep hearing great things about that game "MBL The Show" but its only PS3 and I don't own one of them. I could afford one but I have never wanted one for some reason I don't know why :P....

But honestly I lost my interest in Baseball during the 1994 strike and I have never gotten it back. I watch the Tigers if they make it to the playoffs but thats it.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone doing small rerates on players(specifically the top 25 scrambling QBs) to get them scrambling again? AKA barely turning them into balanced QBs. If so will you be roster sharing?
