    Sim-Style Gameplay Rosters

    VERSION 1.1 | Released on 10/24/2011 | GamerTag: McFlurry84 | Filename: [OS] Sim-Style Gameplay v1.1 | Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?i6lky5dzzzw5bp6

NOTE: PLEASE USE THE COACH PROFILE SETTINGS IN THE SPREADSHEET LINKED BELOW

FYI: The Coach Profiles are included with the roster file that is downloaded from 2KShare. The only changes you will need to make are to the Defensive Pressure for each team from the spreadsheet until the next version is released with updated profiles.

LINK TO CPU/CPU AND COACH MODE GAMEPLAY SETTINGS: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...l=en_US#gid=16

    -----------------------------------

This thread is for a roster project and coaching profiles with substantial changes to tendencies, hotspots, playbooks, play types, and minutes/rotations and will be using this thread as a placeholder for today until the first version is posted. A full settings and slider set release (linked above) work along with this roster set for those who want the full sim experience in CPU/CPU mode.

The base rosters were from clipperfan811 and I'd love to use some of the rookie CAPS from hulyan for the cyberfaces. (Thanks in advance to these two for the work on rookies this year)

    Release Notes for Version 1.1:

TENDENCY CHANGES for PF and C
    • Setup Dribble / Straight Dribble

    OTHER TENDENCY CHANGES
    • Setup Dribble / ALL (for most Superstars)
    • Dribble Penetration / ALL (for most Superstars)
    • Freelance / ALL (for most Superstars)
    • Isolation / Touches (fixed a handful of anomalies that ruined otherwise good gameplay)
    • Shooting / Shot (same as Touches)

    COACHING PROFILE CHANGES
    • Inside Shot (based on new scale for all shot categories)
    • Close Shot (based on new scale for all shot categories)
    • Mid Shot (based on new scale for all shot categories)
    • 3PT Shot (based on new scale for all shot categories)
    Release Notes for Version 1.0:

    ROSTER CHANGES
    • Rotations & Starting Lineups
    • Situationals
    • Play Types for All Players
    • Rookies from ClipperFan (with a few edits)

    RATINGS CHANGES for ALL PLAYERS
    • Shot 3PT (Based on custom formula/scale, see spreadsheet)

    TENDENCY CHANGES for ALL PLAYERS
    • Defense / Take Charge (Based on custom formula/scale, see spreadsheet)
    • Defense / Commit Foul (Based on custom formula/scale, see spreadsheet)
    • Freelance / Isolation
    • Shooting / 3PT Shot
    • Shooting / Shot

TENDENCY CHANGES for PF and C
    • Freelance / Isolation
    • Setup Dribble / Sizeup
    • Dribble Penetration / Double Cross
    • Dribble Penetration / Hes Cross

    TENDENCY CHANGES for PG
    • Post Moves / Aggressive Backdown
    • Post Shot / Post Hook
    • Passing / Throw Alley-Oop

HOTSPOT CHANGES for PF and C
    • Isolation / 3PT (ALL)
    • Spot Up / 3PT (ALL)

The following changes are being targeted for version 2.0 of these rosters (now slated to be released as part of the Dynasty Roster Project:
    • New Rookies with improved cyberfaces, ratings, and tendencies based on college data
    • Custom Potential rating scale based on age, current rating, and draft position
    • Custom ratings for Shot Mid based on formulas using 2010-2011 season data
    • Custom tendencies scale for Shooting based on formulas using 2010-2011 season data
    • Player-specific tendencies and hotspots for All-Star caliber players
    • Editing signature shots and moves for some players (where necessary)
    • More realistic dribbling tendencies for players without great ball-handling skills

This thread is also open for discussion of other global tendency adjustments that may be needed to capture the feel of an NBA game.

The files will be for the 360, but I plan on posting most of the roster changes into the Google Docs spreadsheet linked above.

Testing for all of these changes will be done in CPU/CPU on 12 minute quarters and any feedback is greatly appreciated from anyone who wishes to do the same.

It shouldn't take too much effort for someone (or maybe a few people doing one file each) to port these to PS3.

Nice, I'll check into your thread from time to time as well. I'm sure we can both take a little of something from each other's work.

Really looking forward to this... Maybe we can form this into a super roster for the O.S community and even implement Rashidi's ratings in to the roster along with these great tendencies for the ultimate sim experience.

                      Re: Sim-Style Gameplay Rosters

As of now, the plan is to release the rosters in phases in order to get feedback and make any appropriate changes. Everyone makes mistakes and I doubt that I'm somehow going to be the exception to the rule, so please check out your favorite team(s) and player(s) and let me know if anything has been missed or is horribly wrong.

Phase 1 will be mostly default rosters with global tendency edits for all positions, foul tendency edits that are specific to every player based on last year's stats, 1st/2nd round draft picks included (no UDFA's yet), team rotation/minutes changes, shooting form changes for superstars, and play type changes for every player. This phase will also include Coach Profiles for every team as well as Settings and Sliders for those CPU/CPU, Coach Mode, or Player Lock players out there.

Phase 2 will include more player-specific tendencies, more shooting form changes, the addition of some UDFA's and D-League players, and fixes to Phase 1.

Examples of feedback that I won't be taking the time to address in the near future:

                      1. "Player A is underrated/overrated." - I'm making some minor tweaks here and there to players that are consistently performing above their abilities and/or historical performances in CPU/CPU mode, but this roster set isn't about making sure that everyone's favorite player has the right rating. The goal of this project is the best possible base roster set to work from and player/position templates that can be applied to both rookies and draft classes. I hope the community will make changes from there.

                      2. "Player B wears sleeves in real life" - Accessory adjustments will be the absolute last thing that I'm going to attempt to fix. How this game plays out on the court means far more to me than whether a player is wearing a wristband properly or has the right colored accessory. I'm not saying these things aren't important, but they are and always will be secondary to gameplay in my eyes. It's my goal to release a roster file that can be given to the community to make these kinds of edits and take this to the next level.

Examples of feedback that I really need ASAP:

                      1. "Derrick Rose uses the hesitation crossover much more in real life than in these ratings." - Player-specific tendency edits are extremely time consuming because of the research required. Any information that can be given will be a huge help to getting these rosters as realistic as possible on the court. The first version of this roster file will be a universal edit with some tendency and signature move edits for superstars and top prospects, not a complete release of player-by-player specific tendencies. I'll work on the detailed tendencies over the next few weeks.

                      2. "Derrick Rose doesn't have his dunk package in these rosters." - Due to the massive amount of edits being done, some players may lose their default packages. I'll be checking for most of the obvious ones like D. Rose, but there will be a few that I miss and anyone who finds these missing can post here and I'll make sure to fix them.

Oh and i should mention every center should at least have a base edit of

                              47 speed
                              49 quickness

Anything else and the animation for centers while running looks sluggish up and down the court

Just throwin that out there as an edit
