Getting Dwight Howard on the Clippers

I did a few trades with the Magic (So that I could send enough players/picks) with trade-override on (because that's the only way to get D. Howard in a trade), and I think that it is pretty fair and realistic.

Clippers Trade - Chauncey Billups, Caron Butler, Deandre Jordan, Mo Williams, Eric Bledsoe, Randy Foye, Ryan Gomes, 2012 1st Round Pick, 2013 1st Round Pick

Magic Trade - Chris Duhon, Hedo Turkoglu, Earl Clark, Quentin Richardson, JJ Redick, Dwight Howard

After that I signed JR Smith with the Clippers, so my starting 5 is:
    PG - Chris Paul
    SG - JR Smith
    SF - Hedo Turkoglu
    PF - Blake Griffin
    C - Dwight Howard

The Magic's starting 5 is now:
    PG - Jameer Nelson
    SG - Chauncey Billups
    SF - Caron Butler
    PF - Glen Davis
    C - Deandre Jordan
    Sixth Man - Jason Richardson
    Honorable Mention - Mo Williams

The Clippers lose a lot of depth, but they gain Dwight Howard. Enough said.
The Magic lose Dwight Howard, but a gain a lot of depth, draft picks, and are set to still be playoff contenders now, as well as serious contenders in the long term. I also took a few bad contracts off their hands, while giving them a few expiring contracts.

All in all, I think everybody wins here.

That's terrible trade for the Magic. They would be luck to win 25 games

Everybody does win, except the Magic, who lose and fail horribly.

      Terrible trade.

        How do you figure?

They get rid of unwanted contracts in Turkoglu and Duhon, they gain a ton of veteran talent and depth (what they wanted), they gain a few expiring contracts, they gain two 1st Round Picks, and they don't have to deal with the figurative "Dwight Drama" anymore.

The veteran talent are all nice role players, but their offense would be pathetic. Who's there best offensive player? Jameer Nelson? They would be lucky if they could score 80 points a game. Also, this trade isn't even possible as the Clipper's don't even have a first round pick. They own their 1st rounder to the Celtics

Re: Getting Dwight Howard on the Clippers

Clippers need a third (if not more) team involved, they don't have the pieces for Dwight. Maybe move Mo and Billups for a first each and add them in, don't make them take Gomes, let them keep Clark/Redick, etc. Move Caron for a young wing to include. Jordan, Bledsoe, young wing, 4-5 firsts is looking a lot better. (Mo to LA for Blake/McRob/first, Billups to Miami for filler/2012 first, idk) Maybe Butler to Houston for two of their young wings, they have too many average ones and could use an upgrade.

How did I know this trade wouldn't include either Chris Paul or Blake Griffin in the deal?

That's why the Clippers don't have a chance in hell at getting Howard in reality.

                      Good response.

Maybe I'll have to give those options a look. Thanks for the ideas!

                        Why does everybody believe this?

Maybe if Howard was still under contract for next season this would be true, but seeing as he can just walk at the end of the year, he doesn't have the same amount of worth.

And also, the Magic want VETERAN TALENT, to get rid of their bad contracts (Duhon and Turk), and to get expiring contracts. This trade does all of those things.

Now, sure, it may not be the greatest trade the Magic could get, but it's nowhere near a terrible trade. You guys need to put more variables into the equation.

''Dwight Howard has added a new team to his preferred teams to be dealt to list. It was reported that Howard now has both Los Angeles teams on his wishlist, as the Clippers are another team "Superman" would like to play for.

This scenario is highly unlikely, however, as the Clippers don't have the right pieces to land a trade for Howard. That is, unless they include Blake Griffin in the deal.''

It's all over the internet, it's all over the television. It's just another ridiculous trade rumor that has absolutely no chance of happening, because whether you believe it or not, the Magic would have to get Griffin, and the Clippers are not trading Griffin. Now, if you want to leave common sense and realism out of the entire thing, since, well, we are talking about a video game - load up your game, make YOUR trade, and have fun.

Long term, it's not a terrible trade...but short term, the Magic come out in horrible shape for all the reasons everyone's listed...and I know it's a video game, but just from a chemistry stand point...trading that many players around would never happen just because how difficult it would be to adjust for all the players...but..it's your game, so each his own.

Um... Why should the Magic get face-value for a player who is going to just walk away for nothing at the end of the season?
