According to basketball-reference, he's actually projected at about 22.5 PPG over 36 minutes, but yeah, certainly seems like he's been playing well. I haven't gotten to see much of him though, and Rubio certainly looks like the real deal as well.
Per 36 minutes, Irving is projected at 22.5 PPG, 6.7 APG, 4.5 RPG, 1.1 SPG, 4.4 Turnovers Per, and doing all of this while shooting the ball 17.5 times per game. Pretty good.
Rubio is projected at 12.1 PPG, 9.4 APG, 5.2 RPG, 2.6 SPG, 3.7 turnovers per, and doing it while shooting the ball 9.7 times per game. Rubio actually turns it over at a higher rate than Irving, but the difference is that Irving's usage is close to being twice as high as Rubio's.

Anthony Parker is out with a back strain, so Irving logged 35 and 36 minutes over the last 2 games, instead of the 25-28 he usually gets. After the PHX game he was at 27 and some change per 36, but his usage and per numbers will fall with him and Sessions playing heavy minutes together now. Irving is nowhere near the same player off the ball...
I think it's Rubios award to lose as the T-wolves have become everyones fav loveable losers, while the Cavs while playing good ball, will get no attention until the national media starts talking up Kyrie.
