2k should be ashamed of 2k12

Clutch factor off, clutch at 0. Up by 20 going into the 4th quarter......... O field goals in the 4th quarter and I lose. Really? Don't say I suck because it was on superstar and I was using OS sliders and I was winning by 20. Open layups missed, everything missed. I don't even know how a game as good as 2k11 could be followed up with one as cheap and bad as 2k12

There's really no call for a pointless thread like this, you probably just got complacent with the big lead and weren't running your offense as soundly as before. I've played countless hours of 2K12, and usually, when I blow a big lead it's because I lost focus, not because of some clutch factor. Same thing happened in 2K11, because both games are basketball simulations and guess what? Sometimes, in basketball, teams blow big leads.

There has to be some comeback code in the game. Trevor Ariza blasted a 3 in my face with F Quality. I've even seen Joakim Noah hit a Buzzer Beater 3. When there is a guy on the wing, my player gets stuck and wont run at him to defend. A lot of coincidences that make the CPU play better.

Nah, this isn't pointless, happens way too frequently all this comeback stuff. It happens to me, and seems to be happening to most other people playing.

Doubt he was getting complacent, doesn't really matter what you do in the fourth quarter sometimes vs the CPU, could be running a perfect offense and the CPU would still do something to cut the lead.

It just seems in the fourth quarter, shots that you made in the first quarter just don't seem to fall anymore, and the shots the CPU was missing earlier just start to always go in, it's as simple as that. They step up their D, and your guys start playing terrible D. Something doesn't seem right about that if you ask me.

Not every basketball team just collapses late in the game and let's you come back, comebacks are a huge part of basketball, but it's nothing like how 2K portrays it in real life.

They do everything right late in the game, it's very easy to see that.

          This game is really frustrating.

This isn't a waste thread. This happens all the time! Every lay-up I take misses Open Jumpshots Missed while the CPU is nailing threes right In my face.

Actually, this is ok...in 2K12's world. Obviously, it doesn't make sense in the real world, but in 2K12's world it's business as usual. On the other hand, if the CPU loses on the higher levels, let 2K know about it so they can fix it. It's a glitch.

2K13 needs 3 game modes: Casual, Sim and Challenge. 2K12's Sim is supposed to be Challenge mode. It's not Sim basketball. And it's ok to have this kind of mode, but please don't call it Sim.
              My Specs:

              ZX Spectrum
              CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
              GPU: Monochrome display
              RAM: 48 KB
              OS: Sinclair BASIC

Isn't that how the actual NBA works as well? Games have a natural ebb & flow to them. Just last night Evan Turner put up a mere 6 points on iffy shooting thru 3 quarters against a superior Miami team, then late in the fourth he put up 7 more and helped the 76ers to draw within 4 after being down 29.

I don't feel this is represented inaccurately or unfairly in 2K... I've had games where I've blown big leads, where I've made a huge comeback, entered the 4th quarter in a close game only to entirely bury them the rest of the way, and close back and forth games that went to overtime.

If you're finding that fourth quarter collapses are happening to you entirely too often, then you may need to tweak sliders or evaluate the way you play in the 4th. It's not at all unrealistic to think that a team down by a lot in the fourth will try to kick it up a notch to close the gap. It's your job to manage the clock, protect the ball, take smart shots and contest theirs. I hate to be "that guy" but if this is a recurring issue the problem just might rest between couch and console.

I notice these 'comebacks' are always happening when im playing my mate, the game just seems predictable. I will be up for the first 3 qtrs i lose my mate is up for the first 3 qtrs he loses happens everytime. I hardly play the cpu but i have no doubt this would happen way too often.

Those comebacks were because of tremendous defense, not because of missed layups or missed wide open 3s by Ray Allen.
The problem with 2k12 is that I don't ever feel I'm in control of the outcome of the game. It feels as if I am at the mercy of the AI.

Re: 2k should be ashamed of 2k12

I'm just looking for places to post without making a thread and this seems fair enough. I've never had things like that happen to me but I played on Pro difficulty this year (having been a Superstar/Hall of Fame flip-flopper since 2K8, though, that says something) and, more importantly, I haven't even played the game since maybe early February. And before that it was probably another month; I basically only play when my friend comes by, because the game is still crazy fun with the right opponents. But I can't play the computer anymore, and online not only has latency issues but now just feels weird also.

It's a shame because I KNOW those first few weeks with 2K12 were amazing. I loved the Legends games and I felt like there was so much potential in the animations and gameplay. It definitely felt like HD 2K11, which I was more than fine with. But then somewhere along the way online games became a series of cherry picks and unstoppable drives, and offline became a series of unblockable CPU threes and unmakeable wide open shots. Hell, I haven't been to this forum TRUTHFULLY since the first week of the season, when usually I'm here on at least lurk mode from summer to summer, with a brief break to refresh after the Finals.

what 2k considers defense also plays are part in it. if the computer runs at you or even jumps late its considered a contest unlike in 2k11 where if they did that it would mostly be in their face, also they dont have to jump for it to be considered contesting

I just won a game against the Hornets with the Nets 98-95 (All Star/Sim straight up, no slider adjustments). Called time outs when CPU started going on runs, I commanded the entire game. Problem is, its the same way I always defeat the CPU...

Once I get a 3 point lead, I have to keep fouling the CPU so they can only shoot for 2 (cause I know Clutch Factor will have them hit a 3). Whenever I win on All Star, it's ALWAYS by a 3 point lead lol.

                            NBA 2K12 feels so scripted.

Here are the points scored in the 2nd half by both teams
                            Quarters: 3rd | 4th
                            Hornets: 17 | 27
