Does NCAA 06 run slow on PS3's too ? I miss that game so much.

It doesn't run at all on the more recent PS3 models (or any other PS2 game, for that matter), because the backward compatibility was taken out. Only the 20 GB, 60 GB, and the first version of the 80 GB PS3's can play PS2 games from disc.

All of those are fats, so if you have a slim PS3 don't even bother.

That's unfortunate. Instead of getting it for 360 I'll just play it with my orignal xbox I still have.

I gotta call BS... I don't know about the guy you quoted, but the love/hate NCAA ratio back then was pretty much the opposite of what it is now. Those were relatively happy times around here.




Ridiculous. You're posting this in a thread that has people falling over themselves to praise previous versions of NCAA?

A more accurate statement would be: "Enough people are going to love every year of NCAA forever, regardless of its quality, to kill any reason the dev team would have to push the series to its limits."

Maybe it's just this one gameplay video, but it looks like you can sling it all over the yard, just like in 11. If I wanted to do that, I still have my copy of Blitz 2000 for the N64. Can't they find a good balance and have a decent run game and a decent pass game, instead of having one completely overshadow the other?

I got the YLOD last year on my fat PS3. Have a slim now. Gonna dust off my PS2. Wish I still had the rosters though.

Yes it is. Sadly I don't know where, but someone posted them a couple years ago. They were ps2 rosters in ps3 format.

I was playing NCAA 06 a few months back. Still a truly amazing game. I think I'm going to pull out my PS2 and give it another go. I still have the rosters on my memory card because I did them all myself. It took me a week and I bricked my old PS2 doing it, but it was worth it for such an amazing game.

One thing that bothered me about 06 (or any last-gen NCAA game) was how easy the deep ball is. I was able to complete 75%+ of my deep ball passes and it got to the point where I just stopped throwing them.

Of course, NCAA 12 had this issue, as well, it seemed. I don't recall seeing it on NCAA 09-11, though.

Yeah user catching was absurd, but passing was organic. No physic DB's, no speed cheats, trajectory on passes, ideal ball speed. You could throw any route in the route tree if the defense allowed for it. I can't remember the last time I threw a post route in NCAA because the CPU always undercuts the route.

06 has the opposite problem of super LBs. Defensive players in good position often failed to make plays. You had to jack the knockdown slider up to 99 to help with this. Of course EA took the knockdown slider out of the game after NCAA 09 so we had no chance to fix the next gen stuff ourselves (I would drop it on the PS3 to reduce super LB).
