Must demolish the Orange! Closer game than I would like, but I don't see a way we lose this game, unless the offense sputters big time and turns the ball over multiple times.

USC @ Washington should be much better that last week's Oregon debacle. Sucks that LA Tech vs TAMU is only on ESPNU.

This week is kinda low on big games, but there are still gems.

          Saturday Early
Texas vs. Oklahoma on television (my family roots for different teams, but we all hate Texas)

          Saturday Midday
Stanford at Notre Dame on television
          Surfing around on ESPN3

          Saturday Night

Texas Christian at Baylor on television
Texas A&M at Louisiana Tech on television
          Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

WVU @ Texas Tech could have some potential, too. TTU statistically has a good defense, but they looked lost against OU, though. It's a road game, though, so you never know.

NC State is off this week. Should work to kill the momentum so the Wolfpack lose to Maryland in two weeks. After upsetting #16 FSU at home in 2010, the Wolfpack suddenly had control of the ACC Atlantic, which they proceeded to choke away next week in a 14-13 loss to a 4-4 Clemson team, so I expect something similarly bad to happen again.

FSU lost again, though, and NCSU suddenly had control of the Atlantic again. Then they got blown out by Maryland (and a late comeback was stymied by a very controversial 4th down call) and FSU went to the ACC Title Game, anyways.

People were throwing a fit over how the O looked against UConn, except they didn't realize the only way UConn could threaten RU was if RU made mistakes, hence the super conservative gameplan, also throw into the mix most of the game RU was driving into a 20mph wind.

I hope we get to see Nova light it up.

Nassib really never put solid #s up against the defense, and as long as RU doesn't spot Cuse 14 points early it shouldn't even be a contest.

The Big East has more teams in the top 25 (3) than the ACC (2) or the Big 10 (1 - AP; 0 - Coaches'). And, of course, the Big East has four less teams than either conference.

No respect, no respect at all.

Just getting air time on ESPN, they are hating the Big East is out preforming the ACC.

At this point though, hopefully we can outperform them in the Bowl games. No one will credit the BE teams the rest of the way because of the conference schedule. We will need the teams who make it, hopefully we get to face off against FSU in the OB, to win most of the games.

No Sean Mannion for Oregon State against really good defense for BYU. BYU's starting QB is back, backup is now out for the year though. Hard to be confident in this one without Mannion.

Having a conference champion not named WVU win a BCS game would do worlds of good for the conference, IMO. It has only happened once since "first" realignment (UL's 24-13 win over Wake Forest in the 2007 Orange Bowl).

The Big East seems to have much less parity than in years past. The bottom of the conference is pretty terrible, IMO, so the opportunity for the top three to go into November undefeated or with only one loss is much greater. You could have the potential for an undefeated RU to take on an undefeated UL or UC in November, although upsets may derail that. It "should" happen, though, as there's not a team on RU's schedule before the UL game that I think they should lose to, to be honest.

Wow, he's out for the season, I see. That sucks... Oregon State should still be fine for the remainder of the season, but the hopes of winning the Pac-12 are probably dashed.

                          How is the backup?

Its going to be good to see Western Kentucky play on tv. I haven't watched them since the Kentucky upset. The Sun Belt is striaght bringing it this year.

Also really interested in the Duke/Va tech game. Still can't believe Duke is 5-1 and Va tech is really reeling. Curious to see if Duke gets win number 6 in Blacksburg. If Duke pulls it off, the wheels may come completely off in Blacksburg.

BYU's QB Hill is out for the year, not Oregon State's. Mannion is supposed to miss anywhere from 3 weeks to who the hell knows...

Backup QB for Oregon State has 17 career pass attempts, all in garbage time...in 2010. Don't really know anything about him. Riley says nice things about him, but Riley has probably never said a remotely bad word about anyone.
