The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
but yes, They do need to step it up or hire some of those modders. Ive seen companies hire modders before (Valve/Blizzard are good examples).
But, this is also why I buy the PC version ^_^. That way I'm not left out. I could care less about Online modes as I'm a offline gamer and the PC version is absolutely the best offline version of this game.
Young boy, let his gun bang, let his nuts hang
Transition to a Lamborghini from a Mustang
Drugs slang in the drug game with the hustlang I know one thing Anything is better than that 1 train!
Sad thing is that 2K is still better than other sports games at this stuff
(Right is MLB The Show)
WWE 12
NHL and Madden have some bad ones too. But like I said, 2K is still near the top in this stuff. Which at times, is good, but also bad when you think about it.
I really wonder what video game companies excuses will be once next generation consoles come out. When PS3/360 came out, HDTVs weren't common on peoples houses(people might have had 1 at most),and so many other things changed since then.
Things always seem easy to do when you aren't the ones that have to do it. Modders take a stab at over 500 different players?
I thank goodness for the modders. An incredibly passionate and talented group of people. But this is PC. How good does this stuff look when it has to work for PS3 at the same time? Is every player done? Plus stadiums? Plus coaches? Menus?
Can the art be better? Of course. But none of this is easy. So, show some respect. Give the modders their due and leave it at that.

1. It's multi console. Anything that works for the PC would work for the PS3, making the texture/model is not something that requires extra work for each console. It would be Universal from the get-go.
The only thing I might say is, maybe if all the stuff was this good PS3/360 would lag, due to limited and old/bad hardware.
2. 2K does this for a living. If this was the modders full-time job I dont see a reason why they couldn't do it. Modders have to work/study besides doing this.
Someone hired by 2K doesn't. They get paid to do it, time is money.
3. Coaches are already done by modders, stadiums as well, and menu as well. All these thins have been done.
If you took the talented modders, paid them full-time like 2K employees, they could do all the players. And it only takes once to do it!
Cyberfaces from 2K11 still work for 2K13! It's not like they would need to re-do all 500 every single year. Some updates here and there, but in a span of 3 years (2K11 - 2K13) the modders if hired/payed for their work would do a much better job.
Don't tell me someone who's JOB it is to make these is worse then someone who does it in his free time for free.
The reason the models aren't up to par with some of the modder work is that 2k's priority is to make them work on ancient hardware (Xbox 360/PS3) which tremendously limits the detail they can have. All these mods are for PC where these limitations don't exist.

Don't kid yourself. The Show's graphics and player models are lightyears ahead of MLB 2K. Soriano was one of the very, very few obvious mistakes of a player model in the Show.

False.
My Macbook Pro has VERY similar hardware to an Xbox 360, yet it can run all of the best graphics mods without any change in the smoothness of gameplay.

Then you don't have very similar hardware.
NBA 2k13 lags on half the courts in anything but broadcast view on the consoles. Does your computer do that? If so, time to upgrade. But 2k can't upgrade until a new system comes out. Basically, the consoles just can't handle anymore as it is.

I find it hard to believe that its absolutely maxed out. Also, my game doesn't lag on other views....
Hardware has little to do with the cyberfaces. Modders take current models and just adjust them to better fit the player's actual face, the models keep the same amount of polygons that 2k provides. For the textures, they usually take a current photo and literally paste it over 2k's textures then blend it to match.
