Taarabt Wage Concerns?

TAARABT WANTS RAISE
Do QPR have the means?

What's been rumored for a month now has come to fruition; Adel Taarabt has delivered an ultimatum to the QPR board of directors and manager Verde. He wants a raise. Currently making 25 000 pounds per week, Taarabt has stated that if QPR can't meet his demand of 35 000 per week, he is going to request a transfer.

"It's an unfortunate situation to happen in the midst of a season, but it is a living and these players have the right to plead their case for a promotion or raise," commented a clearly annoyed manager Verde.

Having already doled out most of their wage budget to Dedé, QPR have reportedly offered Taarabt a raise to 30 100 pounds per week.

Let's hope, for the sake of QPR's midfield, that Taarabt likes what he sees on the offer.

QPR Draw With Everton
Stay tied with Toffees in league table
Oct. 21st/2012

In what was a rather flat match by both sides at Loftus Road on Saturday, mid-table sides Everton and QPR met up.

Everton dominated the first half, and it was only a man-of-the-match-garnering performance from QPR keeper Julio Cesar which kept the score tied nil-nil through 45 minutes.

QPR super sub Shaun Wright-Phillips scored in the 53rd minute, completely against the run of play, to put the hosts up 1-0.

Ryan Barkley tied the match for Everton within five minutes as he finished off a pretty passing play with Steven Pienaar.

The final half hour was largely spent in the QPR half, and Everton probably deserved three points.

"It definitely wasn't our best performance, and the last few matches definitely haven't been our best run of form, but we're still getting points, which is better than last year. I feel we can pick up three points next match against Southampton, and then we'll see what happens after that," said a very guarded QPR manager post-game.

The draw is a missed opportunity for both teams, who had a chance to move up into the upper reaches of the league table with a victory.

QPR host Southampton in a midweek clash on Wednesday, while Everton visit an upstart Reading side which sits mid-table alongside them.
