I have once when the Pitcher aimed toward home and sent the ball into the stands. It's possible, but the best plan is to commit to what you are doing.

I never have, the CPU is too perfect in their execution.

If there is no errant throw...I don't think you can beat it.
I've never seen it in Manage only Mode(which is CPU games really)...so perhaps they never really even programmed this in.(it's just an event triggered by the USER)

I had the CPU hit my base-runner with the ball once and I ended up being safe. Other than that, I've never been able to beat out the CPU. Their throws are way to accurate.

Actually yes once way back in MLB 08 the show. They had jason kubel picked off and idk how but after running back & forth for about a minute one of the throws back to 2nd (caught off of 1st) was lobbed and I slid in safe. Crazy

Yep. I've beaten it a couple of times due to errors.

I also beat it at least once because I stalled with the "pickle" runner, then sent another runner from third, towards home plate, just as the fielder was preparing to throw the "close-in" throw for the out. Obviously they diverted their attention, and I was able to get both runners back safely. I pretty much do this any time I'm stuck in a rundown and have a runner on third. It's a great emergency exit.

I have...a couple times with errant throws into the stands, left field, or right field...

Once, I actually beat it out with a throw that just wasn't on-the-$...it was wide of 3rd base, my baserunner slid to the inside of the bag and I was safe...it was freakin' awesome!!!! I literally shouted outloud and pumped my fists....and then looked around to see if anyone was looking. lol Such a gratifying experience in a video game.

i have once, i had 99 speed BR.Ability, and aggressivness. It took about 2 minutes, and what happend was the CPU got confused and for some reason no one was at 2nd so i went to 2nd(this was between 2nd and 3rd.) I think you can only win when the CPU gets confused

To be fair though, confusion is how you beat the pickle in real life.

I loved ALL those stories of success. In the matter of they all happened especially! I thought everyone's answer would be no for sure. Running back and forth in the pickle til the CPU got confused made lol. And the one about stalling in the pickle and sending a second running is just damn good strategy!
