Is NHL 13 Worth It???

So I have NHL 12 from last year and I'm considering buying NHL 13 now that the price has gone down by like $20. So, my question is:

Is NHL 13 worth it and is it a big upgrade over NHL 12???

I didn't like it. I got it of BF for $25 traded it in a few weeks back at BB for $23 put the proceeds towards MLB The Show 13.

Personally i prefer 13 over 12. I play mainly offline and with adjusted slider its solid. You could prob even check kijiji or craigslist and pick it up for 30-35$ used.

13 is incrementally better than 12, but I still think 10 is more fun to play than any of the versions since. Personally, I have been a Day One purchaser of 11, 12 and 13, and had buyer's regret after each. I am still playing 10 more than I play 13.

Where did you find the game for $20 off? Xbox or PS3?

I can only find a cheap new ps3 game for $44.

I think it's worth it. The goalies are a lot smarter, the AI is smarter. A lot of little things have improved the game. Not a big leap this year, nor was there last year. But I am glad I finally picked it up the end of last year (and that the real NHL finally got started up)

And I wish EA wasn't so adamant about pushing all their Ultimate Team coins - I hate that mode and I hate them always begging for more cash!

It's a great game. Haven't seen anyone present an opinion as to why it's not good. There is an upgraded skating engine lot's of modes to choose from. It's an upgrade from last year. There are some glitches: glitch goals, random freezes, upgraded AI (the CPU does not cheat). Great game especially if you're a hockey fan.

If you are an online cheeser (in other words, you know s*it about real hockey), you'll hate it. Offline, it's the greatest hockey game made to this point. And I loved 2K last gen.

I haden't bought a NHL game since '09 .. but let me tell you NHL 13 probably one of the best games you will come across & of course opinions vary from people to people but nonetheless u should definitely give it a shot

It's not worth it whatsover.

I didn't think the goalies could be any worse than they already were in 12, well they are now even worse. They stop back door plays left and right at warp like speed. There's a way to turn it down but it still happens. The goalies just need to be completely rehauled.

The skating is cool, but it still needs a lot of tuning in order to actually play out right in the game.

The game plays the exact same as any years past if you overlook the difference in skating. The AI is pretty much the exact same (even though they say they tune it every year). Issues like lack of gap control from defensemen, easy entry, predictable AI, etc. It kills this game just as it did from NHL 07 until the present.

This game is great if you haven't played the game for a very long time. Just as illmatic said above my post. He hasn't played since 09 and it's really good for him. When not playing the game for a couple years it will be fresh and the annoyances and issues won't be as prevalent. I've been playing since NHL went to 360 with NHL 07, and I can't enjoy it much anymore because many of the same AI issues from 07 are still there. This game is so close to being great, but the changes that need to be made in order to make it a great game probably won't happen.

This is just a summary of why I wouldn't get the game when you already have 12. I could go on and on about why 13 isn't very good, but I think I've done that enough on this forum already. Thankfully there are others finally catching on to the problems this game has had for the past however many years. If dramatic changes aren't made, I will not be buying 14. I can't keep playing the same game every single year when it has issues that need to be fixed.

Ha! This is 100% me, especially the buyer's regret the last 3 years. 2009 was a good year for EA with Madden 10, NBA Live 10 and NHL 10.
