So ... Do you like the signature skills?

It makes the game a bit more arcadey, and feel like a NBA jam or something IMO.Lets just play ball . I think signature moves and accurate attributes give players those signature skills anyway. Some are ok like charge card and scrapper but that can be implemented by tendencies.

    Clutch is there(hidden) = we don't need a 4th quarter sig
Defense Anchor= just give higher def awareness , in paint defense
Lockdown Defender= higher on ball defense , Def awareness ,steals etc...
    Posterizer= really?
    Highlight Film= Really -_-
Finisher= is ok but higher shot in traffic, Layup rating
On Court Coach= I haven't seen a player with this

On floor coach is a My Player only sig skill.i believe.

I don't like sig skills but i don't hate them either. The idea of it is nice but i wouldn't have as many as it does.

I think sig skills are a good idea, and with some tuning can be a really positive aspect of future 2k games. I may be in the minority here, but I think sig skills actually improved 2k13 a lot.

Re: So ... Do you like the signature skills?

I only like some of them, the ones that can't really be ratings based. Such as Posterizer, Highlight reel, Spot up shooter (Although the benefit for that one is really stupid, should be a slight percentage increase regardless of late release .) Corner Specialist, Dimer and Post Playmaker, Break Starter, Charge Card, Active Hands, Chase Down, Hustle Points, Brick Wall, Anti Freeze, Heat Retention, Microwave, Floor General, Defensive Anchor, Scrapper, Finisher and Acrobat (although glitchy).

But the others are either just plain stupid or are or should be ratings based.
          • Shot Creator should be a slightly adjusted shot off dribble.
          • Deadeye should be a new rating called "Shoot Against Tight Defense" (Well not really named that but that would be nice.) Because SIT doesn't do it justice.
          • Post Proficiency should be changed to something where In all situations their fakes are a lot more effective
          • Alley Ooper should allow the player to throw long range lobs from past half court and beyond.
          • Lockdown defender should be ratings based (On ball defense) and/or not disable ALL offensive skills. You see clutch players knocking down shots over defensive icons in the league all the time. And for some reason Lockdown defender doesn't disable brick wall.
          • Ankle breaker is already tied to ball handling. No need for this skill.
          • Interceptor and Pick Pocket should be tied to the steal rating or just the steal rating.
          • Eraser is dumb. First off, doesn't every block cause a player to lose some confidence? In fact, in real life when a shorter player blocks a shot, the shooter usually loses more confidence than when a tall player does. Secondly, Eraser should do something else like increase chance of blocked layups and dunks.
          • Bruiser is glitched and useless. It just makes all the big men have to come out of the game with 5 minutes left in the first quarter. Take it out of the game.
          • Closer should be a clutch rating. Plain and simple. Not everybody is the same in the clutch.

Re: So ... Do you like the signature skills?

I like the majority of them a lot and think they add value to the game overall. My favorite are the floor general and defensive anchor.
Also, they help the classic teams compete against modern day teams. A perfect example of this would be Bill Russell who is 6'9. He was pretty tall during his playing days, but there's no way a coach would put someone his height at Center. His sig skills help even out his height disadvantage.

Re: So ... Do you like the signature skills?

I like them, I just think to bring them back into 2k14 they definitely need to be improved on and some should just be taken out altogether. Like posterizer. But I mostly agree with airaron that the non ratings based ones are the ones they need to keep and the others could be accounted for by ratings straight up.

The sig skills really are helpful though just so you can see how players play, and because it makes them play more like their real life counterparts

Re: So ... Do you like the signature skills?

Sig skills should stay in 2k from now on. They add more value to players. Guys like TonyAllen and Thabo Sef are being appreciated because of the lockdown skill etc.

Guys like Rondo are valued in real life because they make their teammates better. Floor General etc brings that value to 2k
                  Lineup:

                  SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan

                  PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman

Re: So ... Do you like the signature skills?

I think sig skills are very useful and add a different dynamic to the game. It makes the players feel different in terms of uniqueness and makes lower rated players that specialize in one area more important/significant. I would actually like to see more because it can increase the possibilities of different types of players, which will would make game not get boring too quickly.

Some of them are cool, like Dimer, Post Playmaker, Spot up shooter, Defensive Anchor, pickpocket, Active Hands...

But the shot creator is atrocious, players will shoot 100% if they just dribble backwards and get separation.

I removed it from all the players that had it and the game flows much better, I was thinking about removing dead eye too but not many players have it.

That's a good way to look at it. I didn't think about that. I seen a Ayer with brick wall while I had Perkins and he fell to the ground it was funny as hell. Thanks for the insight. Maybe more effective defensive sigs would be nice

Most people agree that signature skills make lower rated players stand out. That's a good look.

Lmaooo !! guess Paul Pierce needs those signature skills huh?

Idk he already seems to go off on me a lot.

I hope 2k checked his shooting tendencies .
