    Tiger Woods 08 PC Online

Anyone here have this? Still the best option for PC online. And with the GameRanger LAN program (very easy to join/set up) makes creating matches a breeze. Can also play the literally hundreds of custom courses online as well.

Other upside is that guys playing at different levels can still play together.

The game isn't necessarily the cheapest (probably because of the custom course availability), but not bad on ebay, half.com, etc. Around $30.

    Let me know.

Still play this online on a weekly basis thanks to GameRanger (even more so over the last 2 weeks with the head to head TW14 bug and all).

I prefer to play on advanced with vertical mouse swing (no aids!). You?

I haven't played in a while, but if you're looking for a legue, DFB - go search "clambakers, tiger woods" - that is a Tour that I was on a couple years ago. It's back up and running after a 2 year hiatus.

Expert true swing/vertical for me (free hand). I've been playing expert for years but sometimes it sure doesn't seem like it (like tonight when I shot 5 over).

I'm about to get back into expert. Wish they included a putting grid with it, but I can try to hang.

As far as the leagues/tourneys.... I've found you never know what you're going to get with swing types in opponents and just didn't want the hassle.

The last PC version I bought was Tiger 06. Does Tiger 08 support IP to IP play? That would give it indefinite legs.

I think you can do IP to IP play on all of the versions from 02 to 08 through Hamachi. Like daflyboys mentioned though, GameRanger is really the best and easiest way to go for TW08 IP to IP play. Once you log in to GameRanger, there is a list of people that are hosting games and you can join from there.

Thanks for that information. I haven't hardly touched a PC for gaming since ~2007, and GameRanger is totally unbeknownst to me! I've got half a mind to try to pick up Tiger 08, just to recall what a good "snap-to-lie" camera presentation was like... I've still got Tiger 06, maybe I ought to just install it instead. Is there that much difference between 06 and 08?

IMHO yes, there is a big difference. TW08 looks a whole lot better than06 and there is a ton of quality courses still being put out for 08.

Agreed, custom courses all over the place - easy install.

I might have to find a copy of the TW08. It was a lot of fun I remember, and I had a challenge with the 3-click system then; probably even more now.

Yep, I've got my laptop hooked up to my 50 in TV and it looks great.

GameRanger is actually a LAN device, so no IP info gets sent as far as I know. Much easier than Hamachi and I believe Hamachi screwed up my network at home at one point.

As far as the courses: Course Downloads

I made a small donation at one point and it increased my DL capability tremendously.

**If anyone wants to get some matches in online, PM me here and then we'll figure out where and when on Game Ranger.

                            Bumpitude.

There are still new courses being put out for this. The latest real course that is high quality is Las Vegas TPC.

Just can't get into console golf games after playing this.

I'm going to have to find this game. Is there a digital download somewhere?
