This game could be described in a few single words. Heartbreaking. Disappointing. Sloppy. Either way, the Bristol Bulldogs walked back to the locker room with a loss. Their first on the season after starting strong with two wins. The trouble started at quarterback. Van Mayard only completed 34% of his passes, for just 88 yards, although he threw no interceptions and tossed a touchdown. The only good news for the passing game? Matt Viselli caught a 5-yard pass from Mayard for his first touchdown on the season. As predicted, however, the lack of air attack provided plenty of chances for tailback Robert Bolig. He got the ball 17 times, and answered wth 129 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown run. On defense, the only strong thing was Noe Estrella having 10 total tackles, although 8 were assisted. The Bulldogs will try to rebound next week in Oak Ridge against the Pioneers.
