I think it would be cool if NBA 2K14 5v5 Crew had an atmosphere like Drew League. Inside a packed high school gym with people standing along the sidelines and with the funny/annoying commentator.
    Official.

Marvin got it right. Not saying it should always be like this, but 2K is trying to bring the mode back. One step in the right direction. Kinda like that they are doing with the controls. Controls should be better now, in its second year. Crew is coming back. Maybe it will not have NBA arenas now, but seems to be a step in the right direction.

You guys seem more worried about the venue you play in than gameplay...

IMO, this Crew is still being in Current Gen, if this was Next Gen, I would be concerned. That's the difference in terms of technology, its the same from 08 to 2013, but disk space being utilized well for everything now compared to figuring out what to have back then (ex Porting the PS2 version w/ adding 2K Share vs. building everything on the XBOX.) One thing that would've been cool is if they went the WWE way of things and have you combine all the possible audio like the name, "McCollum" would be "Mac" and "Collin" combined for the best possible name. Yeah it sounds robotic, but its better than "Number 3" or "Big Cat"

I do agree that marketing Crew at a point where the mode isn't close to finished is frustrating. It wasn't smart, but I will give 2K some chance to improve Crew for now because of the knowledge of them interacting with fans and have trying to make the game playable for everyone.

Next Crew news I see is PAX Prime around the end of August.

Well I'm getting it for 360 till the new one comes out so hopefully they have something good in store for next gen.

I like the ideas bout the names, but luckily mine's been in the database for a while now lol.

Hopefully they take these suggestions to heart, because I find it hard to believe NBA Live won't have a Crew mode of their own, 2K needs to compete with them before people start ditching this online for Live's.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Yep. But I don't believe people would ditch 2K IF Live's gameplay is crap. Which I highly doubt anyways. But yes, it's time to buckle down and go full speed. Cause Live has been wisely been quiet and been working on the game and seeing what 2K is not doing well with us and hopefully taking notes.

I said somewhere earlier that I would probably never completely ditch 2K, but if Live's online is solid (even if gameplay is trash) I'll get it too.

Just because 2K's online has never really been that good. But hopefully this year with competition they step their game up, not just Crew, but every game mode.

I think everyone would want that. Even the 2K fanboys know in their heart competition makes everything better. 2009-10 was the last good year in competition, with NBA 2K10 introducing MyPlayer/Crew and Solid Gameplay and Live 10 for solid gameplay and graphics (plus Mike Wang and the Right Stick Controls, which looks like to be the ones for 2K14)

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5

Alright, its taken 50 pages for me to reply to all this crew mess, and trust me, I've read all of the jargon that has come out of everyone's mouth. What it boils down to is this. We want crew the way it was in 2k11. The Sound of the crowd in a close game, the sound of the commentators amping you up play-by-play, the sound of your kicks squeaking on the hardwood, the sound of the crowd chanting your name MVP MVP MVp while you're at the freethrow line, the tv camera timeouts as you gather what your next move is going to be, when you come out of that time out the sound of "OH hooo hoooooooooo" when you nail that game winner against your opponent at the buzzer that you just can't replicate on the blacktop if the game is up to 21....

^^^^^Minus the hacked heights, this is what we want 2k.....

as long as 5 on 5 is full court and uses NBA rules it's all good.

See I wouldn't mine that much if the venues looked like this:

But if its Blacktop rules, we know what will happen.

I am sure most Crew people wouldn't mind those indoor arenas. It's not really the court, it's the fans and etc. Look at my vids, the courts were the same all the time lol.

Those venues actually look better than the ones in 2K11. The ones in 2K11 was plain. It did not have team logos or anything like that on the court. Just plain with yellow and white in the paint if I remember correctly.

At least put the logo on the blacktop... With some playground chalk or something lol..

Seriously, there's no real showing of your team at all besides the logo in the lobby.

Was the same way in 2K11 for some reason also though. 2K10 actually had team logos and colors on the court though.

Yeah cause that's the default CAT arena. This year it was Pacer Blue and Yellow (if Crew was in 2K13)

the weird thing is when you watched saved crew replays the logo, and everything was there, and the court looked a lot cooler.
