Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.

Saw the Next Gen teaser trailer. Everything looks amazing, except the uniforms and accessories. My only question is: how can 2K spend so much time and effort making the players look so accurate, yet 2K can't even get the correct sock color on Thunder unis, or arm sleeve colors, or knee sleeve length on the players?

Example of 2K next gen Durant and other Thunder players in away unis:

Notice the white socks (should be black), and a white arm sleeve on another player (should be black).

Example of what Durant looks like in real like in away unis:

I know this isn't a big deal to most players, but I find it really annoying that 2K can't get the little details right, even on next gen hardware. There are so many awesome roster makers out there that make rosters with accurate ratings, unis, accessories, animations, etc..., it just amazes me that 2K can't even get socks right.

Yeah, sometimes it changes based on Sunday games, or holiday games, but for the most part teams wear black socks/accessories with away unis, and white socks/accessories on home games. This issue could easily be solved if 2K just added an option for home/away accessories and shoes, but it's something they've ignored for years now.

I'm just a real stickler for details, and it bothers me that James Harden's face will look so real while his uniform, accessories, and shoes, and ratings will probably be all wrong.

That's just 2K though. They don't really care about the little things like correct sock/shoe colors. It's a shame, because there are tons of roster makers out there who do a great job of editing the rosters to make them 100% accurate, and 2K doesn't even use them.

That still doesn't change the fact that KD is wearing black accessories with white socks in the 2K trailer, while other players are wearing white sleeves. It highlights a bigger issue, which is 2K's lack of shoe and accessory accuracy for years now. Even though Lebron is on the cover, 2K still has the black heat unis with white socks. C'mon son.

When will 2K just add the option for home/away shoes and accessories? It's something people have been requesting for years, and it looks like even on next gen 2K still doesn't have it.

This topic isn't a big deal to me, but that's a nice reach, Mr. Fantastic. Xmas day uniforms and away alternate uniforms. The exceptions, not the rules. Not sure why people must object to something simply for the sake of it. In the uniforms that were cited in the OP, the standard is black accessories(as it is with 99% of primary away uni's in the league) in which case his chief complaint is valid.

For the record as Beluba has already mentioned, that trailer is from an earlier build of the game. For all we know it's been fixed already.

I do hope that it has though, cause it's one of the things that's always annoyed the hell out of me with 2K. It's not a hard thing to notice when you're watching games and yet every year it's an issue.

Exactly. I feel half the people that play 2k would rather play The Sims than basketball. Go play fashion designer on a different game, 2k is not that.

Obviously 2K doesn't, and neither do most casual fans like you. But people who actually watch the NBA closely notice things that 2K constantly gets wrong, like bad animations, wrong colored uniforms for Bulls, Knicks, and Warriors, and wrong colored socks/shoe combinations.

Hex editors used to get them right, but it looks like 2K shut them down too. Imagine if 2K had Melo with no headband, no arm sleeves, and no calf sleeves, wearing generic shoes. It would look ridiculous. Well that's how it is for tons of other players and uniforms. It might not matter to you, but it does to people who notice and appreciate the details.

Here's a crazy idea, if you don't care, then don't post in the thread. In fact, don't even click on it. The same way I couldn't give two ****s about online matches and online association so I keep my *** out of those threads because it's not a function of the game that appeals to me. Go troll elsewhere.

Caring about accessories, especially ones such as sock color doesn't make you "hardcore", it makes you an aspiring fashion designer. Go play The Sims... you can make your characters look however you want, just like you're looking for.

Enough with this ****. I don't know if you just came in to bug or you are simply narrow minded, but if some people want to have visual accuracy you should respect that even if you don't give a f***.

If you are so macho, just give up with this game because the first ones who care about cosmetics and fashion are the NBA players themselves; consequently you are playing with a bunch of fashion designers. If you are not confortable with this just go back to your Call of Duty so you can reaffirm your sexuality.

People that are worried about accessories think it's some tremendous travesty that a small team of people don't know EVERY color scheme EVERY player in the league wears on a Tuesday night. It's an insanely small detail no matter how you slice it.
