    Deep passing- what gives?

It seems no matter who the QB or what kind if separation your WR has, every damn deep ball is thrown short and results in a jump ball scenario at best (usually with the DB winning). It is beginning to annoy me.

I think the lat time I was able to hit a deep ball to a WR in stride was in the demo. I realize this should be difficult to pull off, it would just be nice to have a little realism sprinkled in now and again. Hell, at this point I would settle just to see an overthrown incompletion.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Definitely. I'm still playing with the sliders to find the right balance. I think a lot of it has to do with the QB accuracy, as I see a ton of balls thrown behind the receiver, even on short routes. I don't want to make my QBs perfectly accurate, but, but I don't like that receivers have to catch the ball on their back shoulder 90% of the time either.

On a side note, will we ever be able to throw a realistic goal line fade?

You're referring to your QB or the CPU QB? If you're only referring to the user
QB I'll have to agree with the poster after you who stated that it requires a certain touch. It cant be explained man, its just a certain timing on the button press, I cant really explain to you how much pressure you're using on your buttons. On the other hand, I see this problem, but only with the CPU QB. I'm currently trying to get that right.

it's all about timing. chances are you are just throwing it too late. try to throw at as soon as your receiver beats his man or when the button lights up. and play around with the strength of the pass depending on the QB/length of throw. If the ball is in the air too long and the DB is catching up to the WR, try throwing a harder pass.

Your QBs DAC, and THP are in play here. Not sure how good those stats are, but they couldn't point to part of the problem.

Also, the other posters are correct - it requires a certain level of "just the right touch". Hold the THROW button too long, and have the ball line-drive short. Too quickly - and the ball is errantly lofty and picked off. Once you get it, it's just muscle memory. And of course you need to to use the thumb stick to the make it deeper to throw the receiver open.

Far from impossible. I complete deep balls all the time, but keep on doing what you're doing.

its not impossiable I play with the browns and weeden.... and I useally hit 2 or 3 deep balls in games I play and if he listens to what some have posted he'll get the results because some of what they posted works.... maybe he should go into practice mode and try some of the tips.

I have the same problem as OP. And, again, I want a game where the ratings really matter and my stick skills are secondary. I'm an older gamer and don't want to manually control the WR. If my WR is open deep, and my QB has good TP and good DAC, then he shouldn't need me to throw a ball deep enough to hit the WR in stride. And, yet, my QB doesn't do it.

Personally, I'm not experiencing this, but I do believe the following MAY be of interest:

The "Nike Skills Trainer" is kind of goofy, but it does have a nice / informative video and practice section on "lob" and "bullet" passes, as well as using lead passing to it's max effect...

Other than that, it's down to ratings and what sliders and settings you're using...
