Gallardo Falls Flat Again For Rockies
Things got off to a quick start for Colorado, as Dexter Fowler homered to lead off the ballgame
But, a sac fly from Yasmani Grandal in the 4th allowed the Padres to tie things up
Things unraveled from there, as Yonder Alonso singled in a run
And Grandal connected on a grand slam to put a stamp on a 5-run inning
Ian Kennedy even got in on the action with a run-scoring double
Alonso followed with a homer to break things wide open in the sixth
Jed Gyorko homered on the first pitch he saw in the 8th to make the score 10-1 in favor of the Padres
CarGo simply delayed the inevitable, hammering a three-run shot in the top of the ninth

UP NEXT: The Rockies will try to bounce back in the rubber match tomorrow afternoon at PETCO Park. With the end of the season fast approaching, Colorado is trying to find some consistency during the stretch run. Los Angeles is nipping at their heels, and any prolonged losing streak could cost them the division title with just three weeks remaining. Drew Pomeranz (10-3, 3.21 ERA), who has been a revelation in his first full big league season will start for the Rockies. Andrew Cashner (8-7, 3.45 ERA) will go for the Padres. First pitch is set for 2:05 pm MT.
