Rox Double Up Padres In Series Opener

CarGo got off to a hot start, launching a solo shot in the top of the first






And, throwing out Cameron Maybin at third in the bottom half of the frame






Jorge De La Rosa didn't just get it done on the mound, as he doubled in a run for his 1st RBI this year







Unfortunately De La Rosa couldn't snag the sizzling line drive back up the middle to prevent a run







Another base hit, just out of the reach of Rickie Weeks, scored another run for the Friars





Clayton Richard returned the favor with a run-scoring base hit of his own






Michael Cuddyer continued to swing a hot bat, driving in a pair






Nolan Arenado, fresh off the DL in time for a playoff hunt, drove in two runs as well








This one ended in exciting fashion, as the runner was cut down trying to score on a base hit

Gallardo Falls Flat Again For Rockies

Things got off to a quick start for Colorado, as Dexter Fowler homered to lead off the ballgame






But, a sac fly from Yasmani Grandal in the 4th allowed the Padres to tie things up






Things unraveled from there, as Yonder Alonso singled in a run







And Grandal connected on a grand slam to put a stamp on a 5-run inning







Ian Kennedy even got in on the action with a run-scoring double






Alonso followed with a homer to break things wide open in the sixth






Jed Gyorko homered on the first pitch he saw in the 8th to make the score 10-1 in favor of the Padres






CarGo simply delayed the inevitable, hammering a three-run shot in the top of the ninth

Rosario Comes Up Clutch In Rox Win

Troy Tulowitzki got the Rockies on the board early with a solo shot in the first






Chase Headley erased the deficit with his first homer of the game, a two-run shot in the bottom of the 1st






Nolan Arenado doubled in a run to tie things up in the second







But, Yasmani Grandal launched a solo shot in the bottom of the frame to regain the lead







Headley crushed his second homer of the game to pad the lead for the Padres






CarGo homered in his second straight game to pull things even with a two-run shot to center






After losing the lead, yet again, Arenado helped close the gap with a solo home run to straightaway center

Rox Come Up Short In Loss To Giants

Wilin Rosario came up big defensively in the first inning, nabbing Angel Pagan trying to steal second






Try as they might, the Rockies could not break through against Barry Zito in this one






Joaquin Arias singled down the left field line to drive in the first run of the game for the Giants







Brandon Crawford would come in to score one batter later, thanks to a sac fly







Rickie Weeks delivered a clutch, two-run double to tie things up, but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple

Rox Come Up With Thrilling Win By The Bay

Things were hopping early, thanks to a grand slam from Nolan Arenado in the 1st inning






Tyler Colvin followed that up with a monster shot into the bay in the 2nd inning






But a bloop double drove in a run for the Giants







And another double added one more run in the second







Buster Posey came through, yet again, with an RBI double for the Giants






Wilin Rosario went deep to break the 6-6 tie, but it wouldn't last long...

De La Rosa Bests Cain Thanks To Offensive Outburst

Yorvit Torrealba had a big day at the plate, opening the scoring with an RBI double






Jorge De La Rosa contributed on the mound, and at the dish, driving in a run with a base hit






Little Johnny Herrera muscled up a fastball and drove it over the wall in right field for a home run







Trevor Story flashed some of the offensive potential that has Colorado excited about his future







Buster Posey continued to haunt Colorado pitching with a two-run homer to left-center
