NBA Live Roster/Ratings Guy here

Hi everyone, I'm Fernando. I'm a relatively new member of the NBA Live Dev team. My main focus are the rosters and ratings. I'm also helping with tuning Dynasty.
I have read through some older posts and am looking for more feedback on those three things (especially Dynasty).

First, welcome, hopefully this helps with having guys adjusted correctly. As far as ratings go, I believe Chris Mullen needs to be re-rated as a legend to have a higher 3 point shot. Dwight needs to have his addidas arm band change colors depending on what your team logo is, in UT. Dynasty needs to have the ability to quit your current job and start another, as well as a tab for past champions and award winners.

Playoff atmosphere in dynasty needs to be better, maybe some towel waving, MVP chants and the like.

I think some of the ratings are either too high or too low.

For example, Magic Johnson is a 91, he's arguably the best PG of all-time, he should be at least a 94-95.

Otto Porter is a rookie who barely plays and might be the biggest bust of this draft, why is he an 80?

Too many players are gold cards in UT, or if you want to go that route maybe add an extra tier to separate the 87+ ratings or so.

Haven't played dynasty so I'm not sure but what the above poster said sounds good. More playoff atmosphere would be awesome

Chris Mullin's 3pt rating is low because he shot only 23% on 100 shots for the 88-89 season. I'll ask to see if we can get a small bump for him.

I understand why you feel it should be higher, though. No one thinks of Chris Mullin as a brick layer.

Magic Johnson's overall seems to be dragged down from his 3pt shot. The Ultimate team guys are going to rework their overall formula for '15 to give a more accurate representation of where guys should be.

We don't know if Otto Porter is a bust, he never leaves the bench! I have him down to a 74 for the next regular roster update but, Ultimate team has their ratings locked from the beginning of the season, for the most part.

You're right! Sorry, I totally forgot the guys were year based, I know one year Mullen shot like 40 percent from three, makes since though that his isn't that high. I agree with the different tiers of gold cards, a lot of the guys could stand to be silvers. Also, man alive, if I pull another DeAndre Jordan, I had the opportunity recently to open an enormous amount of packs and I kid you not I must have gotten 8-10 DeAndre Jordans. Maybe bump John Wall up a bit and make Anthony Davis in the 89-90 range his numbers this year are extraordinary.

Make almost every player's rating on the Philadelphia 76ers lower. Try and do sims with the team and get the simulated to real record to match, but maybe a little off to compensate for injured players playing, and traded players.

It's ok. You're not the only one who forgot about the year. We've received plenty of questions about why Rodman isn't a 99 in rebounding. Again, it's his year.

Wall will be evaluated again. AD already has a small bump ready for the next roster.

I actually made a couple of them a little better.

I agree with you, a few of them feel like they need to be downgraded. Some of their guys had certain categories decreased but, I guess it wasn't enough to bring down their overall.


Could you give some examples of how you've seen the simulations be unrealistic?

Good that you guys are taking some action and trying to sort out the ratings issues. I hope someone from the art and graphics team comes to visit here because I would like to know if they are going to give this game the next gen polish visually for Live 15?

Is there anything ratings related that can tone dow the effectiveness of the post spin move. Or is there a gameplay mechanic that most of us are missing. I can not seem to cut off the baseline spin no matter how hard i try to cheat over to cut it off. To the point where i would say its a free bucket the other way, and yet I still cannot stop it.

One thing I really want is to see is all players who played at least one second in the NBA this season be in the game at the end of the playoffs. Is Arinze Onuaku available as a free agent yet?
