MLB 15 Road To The Show Wishlist

Road to the Show hands down is the most impressive career mode of any sports game. But with that being said it can always get better here are some things that would help.

1.) Post Game Interviews are a must in every career mode imo

    2.) GM/Coach interactions/conversations

3.) The ability to request for teammates to get traded or certain players get signed during offseason,

4.) Like 2K use to do when they would ask for 5 players u would like them to trade 4 B4 the deadline

    Whats on your wishlist?
Only thing in sports that matters is Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks .

Re: MLB 15 Road To The Show Wishlist

My wish list for RTTS is this

      1. I want to be told when a teammate will attempt to steal when I am up to bat so I don't go off and swing and knock it foul or if I get a good pitch be able to hit it away from the runner. I also would like to be told when it is best to steal without being penalized if I choose not too.

      2. I want to be able to get points not just for catching fly balls in the outfield. I have had several times where I have to get a ground ball only to have to throw it to the cut off man because the runners decide not to run so I can attempt to throw them out attempting to advance or score. I then end up with no points for even grabbing the ball and not letting it get by me or for a good throw decision. Even in the training mode all I get for fielding ground balls is 50 points for a good throw decision and it just seems like a waste when you can't get more.

      3. Make the money we earn in contracts mean something. Maybe allow us to use that to get points for upgrading our player.

I want to stop seeing Jason Heyward, Matt Kemp, Edwin Encarnacion, Matt Wieters, Joe Mauer, Andrew McCutcheon, and Yasiel Puig bunting with men on base and 2 out. Or even just in general, really. It is ridiculous how often this happens.

I do like the OP's 3rd and 4th request. Would love to have some input as to free agent signings I would like to have happen, or trades.

The ability to see league transactions throughout the year. Nothing worse than playing the Washington Nationals, and seeing Hanley Ramirez at the plate without a clue how he got there.

            Online mode for RTTS.

Everyone creates their individual players and form teams with other players.

They can be traded around and the team plays against other teams made up of real players as well.

Well, basically like playing baseball in real life except online and on a console without actually having to train for it.

Sort of a massively multiplayer online game where people have to work together and do their part.

As of right now my #1 and only wish is for them to unruin Road to The Show mode and the Player Lock mode so I can actually even play it. Currently you cannot play under All Pitches unless you are willing to tolerate this Unusable RTTS/PlayerLock ALL PITCHES Mode.

                    1. Single A or A Advanced in RTTS Ive wanted this forever when players get drafted irl they start out in A or rookie.
                    2. Be able to ask for your team to sign a player
                    3. Make asking for a trade easier like in NBA 2k you pick 3 teams and the GM will make a decision on the best offer instead of getting traded to a random team.
                    4. Batting Cages http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82Cd_LNQSgc If I change my batting stance let me go there to try it out see if it works you gain no skills for this and it can help newer players get used to hitting in RTTS. Kinda like shootaround in NBA 2k
                    5. Let me retire my player and become a manager
                    6. If a RP let me warm up in the bullpen before entering the game
                    7. As a pitcher let us call timeout and speak to the catcher and ask to be pulled out of the game or stay in the game. this could help when tne manager keeps you in the game for a long time with no energy.
                    8. Make money in RTTS worth something maybe we can purchase some drills to train our player.
                    9. Press Conferences when we reach the MLB but they will not be there all the time like in NBA 2k only make them in certain situations (ex we get traded to/sign with a new team showing wearing our new jersey, the playoffs, all star game MVP, and so on.)
                    10. Last game environment let me go out like Mariano

                          Welp... yet AGAIN!

Phillies (me) vs. Angels... Bottom of the 8th inning, with two outs, and I am up 5-4, playing the field with my RTTS character. There is a man on first and second base in this one run game in the 8th with 2 men down... Josh Hamilton steps to the plate, and is in an 0-2 count.

                          Hamilton.... BUNTS.

He's out. Talk about an anti-climactic ending to an otherwise great game.

What on earth is going on here?!?!

                              1. There needs to be a 'News' tab on the screen where you can see what's going on around the league, specifically transactions. The fact that you still can't look at transactions in RTTS is egregiously bad. There are tons of other things you could do with the News tab as well, like keeping you aware of statistical milestones ("Miggy Reaches 40 Homers for 3rd Straight Year With 2-Run Shot Off David Shields"), or pennant races ("Rockies Close Within 1 game of Giants in NL West Race Off 2-run Shot By Tulowitzki With 3 Games Left To Play.") Just simple little news stories/headlines that would add to the immersion of the game. My idea would be to have a separate News tab in the RRTS menu, and then within that there would be 4 tabs: one for your player, one for your team, one for your division and one for the league as a whole. FIFA does something exactly like this and it adds a lot to the Be A Pro mode.

                              2. Expand statistics and record keeping. This is not just an RTTS issue but a franchise issue as well. But it's even worse in RTTS.

                              3. Introduce (or re-introduce) some strategy. Planned steals, double steals, hit and runs, bunts. I understand why they took this out, because the way they had it implemented before was bad and it was pissing off a lot of players. You couldn't steal without getting permission or else you'd get benched. That was never going to go over well. But there should be some strategy coming from your manager during the game. You should be able to decide whether or not to listen to him, but at least that way, when I lay down a perfect bunt with a player on 3rd base he will actually run home rather than just stand there, because he KNOWS we're doing a suicide squeeze.

                              4. Keep expanding the contextual commentary and cut scenes, for example when you go on a 10 or 20 game hitting streak the announcers will do the Player Showcase next game and talk about it. Keep expanding on that. The more the announcers actually acknowledge YOUR player and what he's doing, the better. It makes the game more immersive. I would love if they would talk about your player down the road, after he's an established player, in the context of being a superstar, or future hall of famer, or whatever it may be. The announcers should know your entire history and track record, and have relevant soundbites. If you're in your 15th season and you've never made it to the World Series, they should mention that when you're playing in the ALCS game 7. Just stuff like that.

                              5. Give us the option to choose uniforms before each game, but also don't force us to choose. If we don't manually pick one, let the game keep using the correct uniform based on the day of the week or other factors. The reason I say this is, some teams have great uniform sets and I don't even care to interfere (like the Royals or Dodgers). While other teams, I would never play for them as is, because I know I would have to play in a certain set of ugly uniforms all the time (like the Mets camo ones, or the White Sox alternates ).

                              6. Let us determine our own spray chart to start our career. If the spray chart actually does influence where you hit the ball, then why make it just a random thing? I wanted a pull hitter, so when I started my guy (I've started several guys but this is THE guy I'm going to go with) I had to keep re-starting about 25 times to get a spray chart I liked, since I'm stuck with it my whole career.

                              7. Expand the manager interactions. Like others have said. I would stop the whole "now you see me, now you don't" where certain prompts in the manager interactions menu disappear and appear at random. Just leave it there for god sakes lol. Let you pick a set of 3 teams you would like to go to when you demand a trade. If you get stuck in a DH role, you should be able to ask to not DH anymore (this happened to me as a CF in AAA and I eventually asked for a switch to LF, which worked. Then I switched back to CF and they didn't DH me anymore).

These next few ideas I'm not sure about. They could either be lame or could be really cool, depending on how they're executed. SCEA would probably be able to execute them well.

It would be cool if, after you have been in the league for a while and have earned some accolades and respect, you could start giving your manager your opinion on lineups, which teammates you really want to be resigned, which free agents to go after, etc. I dunno if that's a great idea or not, it might get a little kitschy and unrealistic. They had it in NBA2K and within the context of that game it was fine, but I dunno if it would work well in the context of MLB. It also leads me into another idea

                              8. Your player could have something that shows his level of reputation/clout/status/respect, whatever you want to call it. This is basically your level of profile or how you're seen around the league. It could tie in with the Perception thing in the Comparison menu. In fact it's kind of just an expansion of that, making it more relevant to the game. It could determine any number of things, from how likely you are to get all-star votes, how big the attendance level is when you're on the road (and also the type of signs or yelled phrases you hear from the crowd), how much your manager listens to you on the stuff I talked about above (lineups, trades, free agents, etc). There's a lot that could be done with this, I'm sure if I gave it some thought I could come up with more but I'm just kinda going stream-of-consciousness right now rattling off as much as I can.

                              10. Bring back manual injuries. This was a useful tool for countering some of the dumb stuff that would happen in your RTTS that you had no control over. I understand that the point of the mode is to be at the mercy of your organization, and NOT control everything. But even with manual injuries your level of control is still very low. It just let you keep things more realistic. For example: your team makes the stupidest trade of all time, that would never happen in real life. Quit to menu, re-load save file, give players involved in the trade a 3-5 day injury. No more trade.

                              11. You should be able to tell your manager you're NOT ready to be called up lol. "I just don't think my bat is quite ready, coach." I like to dominate the minors a little while longer than the game lets me sometimes. That MLB pitching is serious.

                              12. Separate the Durability rating into Fatigue/Stamina (call it what you want) and Durability, rather than having them combined into the same rating. Just because I'm injury prone doesn't mean that when I'm healthy I need a day off every 4 days. They're 2 entirely different things. This is a game-wide issue, not just RTTS. But it deserves to be mentioned.

                              13. Just get creative and focus on immersion. This isn't really a specific recommendation but more of a general direction where I'd like to see them go. I love the gameplay, we all know gameplay is incredible. What's missing from RTTS and franchise is immersion and context. They feel cold and hollow after a while, because when you're not on the field there's absolutely nothing going on. I don't feel like I'm a part of the MLB. This doesn't mean they need to get silly and dramatic like NBA2K. Just make the league feel alive and real while I'm playing in it. There's a million things they could do, and I'm sure they can come up with better ideas than me.
