Players take pay cut to join your team and try to win a championship?
just wondering if anyone has an off-season in association where star players take paycut to join your team and want to win a championship? i remember i got melo after getting into the eastern conference final with the raptors back in nba 2k11 and he was willing to come by only getting 5 mil a year, did anyone have this experience in nba 2k14 association?Tags: None -

Ray Allen took a pay cut in my 2K14 season.

How much less? Was your team really good the year before that got him to want less money and come play? I rmb MELO took a huge paycut in 2k13 just to come on my team, I am now almost finishing up second season and hope the same thing can happen again!Comment

Re: Players take pay cut to join your team and try to win a championship?
I'm in season 5 now, and after repeating as champions with the Bulls, ANYONE over the age of 31 with the trait of wanting to win as EXTREMELY HIGH were willing to take sizable pay cuts.
Since I needed 5 FA's and only had the MLE, I wanted to find the perfect 6th man using less than half of it, so I targeted a bunch of players with the traits listed above.
I IDEALLY wanted a 3rd guard (combo guard), and D. Wade (82 rating) signed on to be my 6th man for $2.2M for 1 year.
So yeah, it happens in 2014 as well.Last edited by cokohpuffs41; 07-03-2014, 11:30 AM.Comment

So does the game actually pop up a message saying, "hey wade wants to win championship and hes willing to take pay cut, and then he will offer you the amount the he wants, and then you just have no options to change the money slider (up or down) but accept? this was how nba 2k13 was, just wondering if it is the same in 2k14?Comment

It's exactly the same. I witnessed LeBron say he was willing to take a paycut from the Bulls and Knicks in my association. Same exact message and scenario. He ended up signing with the Bulls. They won a ring the next year, with Derrick Rose as the MVP, just if you were wondering.Comment

Happens to me all the time because I do multiple deep sim associations every year, and it's almost unfair. In Year 8 of Charlotte Hornets expansion, and after back2back championships then I get a 4th superstar at a discount and we go on for a 4-peat.. I might have to think about rejecting it next time, but it's just so tempting to accept.Comment
