      Game Notes
The New England Patriots host the Washington Redskins this Sunday in a game that favors the Patriots. Looking deeper into the numbers reveals a few weaknesses for the Patriots. Even though the Patriots lead the league in interceptions, they still give up a lot of passing yards. Combine this with their bad redzone offense and even worse redzone defense and Washington has a clear advantage. Washington's offense isn't great, but if they can make enough plays, they could walk away with the win on Sunday.

Winning at home is always important and the New England Patriots were able to do so on Sunday against the Washington Redskins. Like many of the games this season, the Patriots won the game easily, despite losing another player for an extended amount of time to an injury. Even though the Patriots are without a lot of big pieces on the team, they still continue to win.

Despite being down for most of the game the Washington Redskins recorded five sacks. Adam Carriker had two of them in the game.

Early in the game, it looked like it might be a struggle. After Washington kicked a field goal on it's opening drive, New England responded with two of their own. Offense through the air didn't come easy for Washington, but they were able to be productive on the ground. Alfred Morris managed to run for 75 yards on 15 carries in the game. Morris would probably have gotten more carries, but when halftime came, Washington was behind 20-3. Not only did Washington have a deficit to overcome, they also had to do it without Kirk Cousins.

Big plays like the goal line stand and Shane Vereen's 49-yard punt return helped the New England Patriots get an early lead in the first quarter.

Cousins was somewhat effective while he was in the game throwing for 123 yards on 8 attempts. When Seneca Wallace came in for Cousins, he struggled mightily. What didn't help Wallace was the constant pressure that he was under from New England's pass rush. Often times Wallace would escape the pocket when there weren't any defenders near him. Wallace did throw a touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Markeese Rothman, but it was overshadowed by the four interceptions he threw.

Rookie wide receiver Markeese Rothman catches a touchdown pass from Seneca Wallace late in the third quarter.

In the end, Washington was outmatched by the Patriots. It didn't help that Cousins only played into the second quarter either. That isn't much of an excuse when looking at the number of players that are on New England's injury list. In order to win more games, the Patriots will have to continue to get contributions from other players on the team. Only that kind of effort and play will help the team get wins in the future.

        Game Ball/Extra Reps

        Game Ball:
Jamie Collins: The second year linebacker is all over the field, recording 10 total tackles and an interception.

Jelani Gibbs: In his first NFL start, the rookie linebacker records 5 tackles.

Rob Ninkovich/Chandler Jones: The defensive ends each get to the quarterback twice in the game.

Aqib Talib: Throwing Talib's way is a dangerous thing as the veteran cornerback gets two interceptions in the game.

        Extra Reps
Dont'a Hightower: Hightower continues to struggle and is unproductive for most of the game with only two total tackles in the end.

Tom Brady/Offensive Line: Whether it was holding onto the ball for too long or not getting enough time to block, the Washington Redskins defense gets to the quarterback five times.

        Media Reaction
Robert Flores - @RoFloEA: I saw tom Brady's arm light on fire for about 7 seconds. Solid game gets him the win. #Patriots
Skip Bayless - @SkipBaylessEA: Home field advantage trumps sleeping in a strange bed. Patriots get the win.

Re: Whatever Happened to the Patriot Way - A Madden NFL 25 New England Patriots CFM

There are a few things that come to mind when thinking of late November/early December weather. The NFL playoffs, end of the year awards and the Pro Bowl come to mind. While the Pro Bowl is considered an honor by many NFL players, they do have bigger goals to work towards. As nice as it is to be recognized for your talent, players would prefer a chance at playing for the Lombardi Trophy. The only way to get their is to win the games that are in front of them, and the best way to start is with the games on the schedule this week.

Who would have thought that a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team with Mike Glennon as the quarterback would have a fighting chance of making the playoffs. Glennon may be getting too much credit, as Tampa Bay's defense has performed much better than he has. With players like Gerald McCoy, Darrelle Revis, Lavonte David, Dashaon Goldson and rookie Tacoi Pendleton, they have kept the team alive for the time being. The Indianapolis Colts are hoping to see some of their players step up as well and help them make the playoffs for the third consecutive year.

E.J. Manuel has had a breakout out season in his sophomore year for the Buffalo Bills. He and Steve Johnson have been in sync this year. If C.J. Spiller can stay healthy, the Bills look like they can be a dangerous team. None of that matters to the New York Jets as they are just trying to stay above water at the moment. First year head coach Russell Maloney can't be too excited about the way things have gone. The 2014 Jets look a lot like the 2013 Jets and that can be a problem for coach Maloney. The Bills would like to make it an even bigger problem by getting a win on Sunday.

                          New England Patriots Scouting Report

Scouting isn't an exact science, so the scouts will miss things from time to time. After looking at runningback and fullback prospects, the New England Patriots scouts found a few more interesting players. Although Dominique Bruder and Gabe Pederson are listed as fullbacks, they showed some good ball carrying skills. When looking at Brandon Buckhalter again, one thing that stood out are his versatility and speed. Being able to return kicks is something the Patriots are after in the upcoming draft and Buckhalter looks like he could play the part.

The big names of the 2015 free agency class continue to shrink with Geno Atkins, Terrell Suggs, and Ryan Kerrigan all re-signing with their current teams. There will be one major addition to the list as wide receiver Dez Bryant rejected an offer from the Dallas Cowboys. With the way things are headed in Dallas at the moment, it's no surprise that two of their top soon-to-be free agents have chosen not to stay with the team. Other players re-signing with their current teams below.

having your best players on the field can make a big difference in a game and the San Francisco 49ers will be getting a game changer back this week. Smith being back in the lineup should provide a boost for a 49ers team that is close to getting back to the postseason.

                            Media Reaction
Mark Schlereth - @MarkSchlerethEA: The owner of the Texans is going to have a lot of explaining to do next season when they lose Brian Cushing to free agency.ers
Chris Mortensen - @mortreportEA: This just in: #Bengals got their man. Re-sign Geno Atkins to be their starting DT.
Skip Bayless - @SkipBaylessEA: Is H. Miller REALLY worth this kind of money? If he's healthy, sure, but can he stay healthy? Not so sure.
Skip Bayless - @SkipBaylessEA: Not shocked that Dez Bryant doesn't want to re-sign with the Cowboys. I heard the offers they made were terrible.
Matt Miller - @MattMillerEA: Ravens were willing to go above and beyond to re-sign Terrell Suggs. Monumental signing.
Robert Flores - @RoFloEA: Great re-signing for the Steelers. But they could have signed me for a quarter of that.
Ross Tucker - @RossTuckerEA: The 49ers know it will be a big lift getting Smith back this week.

                                Game Notes
The New England Patriots begin a two-game road trip with a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. While rookie quarterback Billy Perez has been impressive so far, LeSean McCoy and Brice Brown have been a formidable back field duo. Both runningbacks have 8 rushing touchdowns a piece and have helped the Eagles lead the league in rushing offense. New England will have to counter that with a passing attack of their own that has been dangerous all season long.
