Draft Stories:
Team Needs: QB, WR, TE, RG, RT, RE, MLB, CB, FS
- Leaping Bobak: Memphis TE Kevin Bobak opens up running lanes and has a great leaping TD catch against Southern Miss.
- "I know @skipbaylessEA thinks Kevin Bobak belongs on the O-Line, but O-Lineman don't make catches like that." - Ross Tucker.
Owners Corner:
Contract Negotiations:
- Marcel Reece: He deserves a big extension. I will be giving him whatever he wants.
- His Desired Contract: 4 Years / $17.6M ($4.4M per year)
- My Offer: 5 Years / $30M - ($5M per year + $1M Bonus)
Scouting: I finally achieved 10,000 Scouting Points which is the amount you need to unlock the 'Development' Grade, and this is the real way to determine how a prospect is going to be in the NFL, the best you can get is a 'Star' rating
- I went after Mash Johnson's Development Rating, and he unfortunately has a 'Slow' Development rating. I am very bummed about that, but he is still a good prospect. to pick up. I could look into the next RE down (Jacques Dylan - #39 Overall / #3 RE) but I think I may just go after Mash.
Roster Changes:
- Drops: There was a tough decision between dropping Chimdi Chekwa (CB - 76 OVR) and rookie Chance Casey (CB - 73 OVR).I chose to drop Chekwa due to him being worse in Zone Coverage, and being 2 years older. I had to make this move to grab another Linebacker, out of necessity.
- Adds: I addded Jamar Chaney (MLB - 68 OVR). His numbers looked really good, and he has a very high set of attributes in Pursuit, Acceleration and Agility, and Play Recognition.
Depth Chart Changes: I have to deal with all the injuries from last week's simming debacle, so here are my changes.
- Right Guard: Mike Brisiel (RG - 81 OVR) is out for 4 weeks with a Broken Thumb. However, instead of starting the next Right Guard there was a surprising name that popped up with a high rating - Matthew McCants (LT - 81 OVR for RG). He is now the backup to Brisiel.
- Middle Linebacker: Both Nick Roach and Kevin Maiava will be missing time (3 and 5 Weeks, respectively). My top backup is Miles Burris (ROLB - 74 OVR) and my other backup is newcomer Jamar Chaney (MLB - 68 OVR), with Kaelin Burnett (LOLB - 69 OVR) playing backup to all of the LB positions.

This game was a laughable blowout. When I was typing out the Team Stats I actually laughed out loud when I went over the Possession Time; 10 minutes of total offense hilarious. In the rain in Oakland I thought I needed to run the ball all game after having a terrible 1st Quarter of dropped passes, but boy was I wrong.
The Offense was astounding today.
Matt McGloin got very lucky today, but good lord he had some amazing looking passes. He actually had 2 long bombs to
Denarius Moore, one was an 79 yard pass that was called back on a holding call. I was pretty pissed, but a couple drives later, however, he hit
Moore for a 72 yard bomb. It seems like whenever the Eagles scored a Field Goal, the first play from scrimmage for the Raiders went for a big score.
Darren McFadden and
Denarius Moore were the benefactors of big plays; and while they only had 3 and 1 receptions respectively they went for big yardage.
McFadden also had a decent game on the ground averaging 4 yards a carry on the day; he could have added more yardage had it not been for the quick scores.
The Defense was quite amazing today. While we did give up quite a bit of yardage to
LeSean McCoy; we gave up yardage to
LeSean McCoy... kind of figured that was going to happen. I was surprised to see
Mike Vick starting over
Nick Foles, so I had to watch the Read Option more than normal; and before the second half we did quite the job at holding him to small amounts of yardage. In their first starts
Miles Burris and
Jamar Chaney did a decent job at plugging their holes and protecting against the run.
Chaney's only tackle on the day was actually his first sack on the year, which held the Eagles from 3rd and 1 and forced them to punt.
