I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
I just came here to check on this. It stinks
I loved being able to bunt with the r stick and actually aim bunts. Sometimes you go with the pitch but sometimes a hitter aims regardless of inside or outside

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Don't know if this would be considered off topic ... but ...
Don't really know where to ask this specific question ... so here goes, what are the chances that MLB the Show future iterations will get real facial and head scans into the game? Or is that already in the works? Although Cespedes is no longer on the Oakland Athletics, I was pretty surprised to see him looking quite generic, frankly unrecognizable.
What's the chances of real facial scans for future MLB the Show? And better player models?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Games only ever do star players. Maybe 100 guys will get scanned. As for the models and graphics, give it a couple years. The next gen hardware will be taken advantage of.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Although different sport, we're still talking about individuals, and the reason for asking is because apparently NBA 2k15 is close to having each and everyone including rookies scanned in. I did a quick internet search and there is approximately 450 players total spanning across all teams in the NBA. Sure of course there are more MLB players, that is understandable if not everyone is going to get scanned immediately. But looking forward to getting everyone (those willing) scanned... if in fact MLB the Show chooses scan players.
EDIT: Question. Did I do something wrong, or toggle something? The grid/graphic overlay that tells me whether I swung late or early, etc. is completely missing. How do I bring it back up? I checked the gameplay/presentation option, but don't see anything.Last edited by strawberryshortcake; 08-13-2014, 04:24 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
how can i substitute a tired player for rest when i don't have any alternative players (same position) in my mlb squad?
For example:
I play a Padres franchise and don't have an alternative for E. Cabrera SS. Do i always have to take SS players from my Triple A Team and move Cabrera to AAA due to the fact that the max. amount of players is 25?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Substitute any position player from your bench. An SS does not have to replace an on the field SS. You can substitute a second baseman, third baseman, or an outfielder and have them play SS. Be wise though. Usually stick to infielder substituting for another infielder.how can i substitute a tired player for rest when i don't have any alternative players (same position) in my mlb squad?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
It's a difference of 10 men rosters vs 25 man rosters. A lot more work, time, and money to do it. I'd rather them use that space for other things, personally.Although different sport, we're still talking about individuals, and the reason for asking is because apparently NBA 2k15 is close to having each and everyone including rookies scanned in. Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Such as ... ?
And on the contrary, you would actually save time and there would be less work when you scan in player's faces.
Head/facial scanning would actually cut down the amount of work and time in the graphics department. You really believe doing it the old way, where an artist goes into the graphics software program and sit hours on end trying to create an athlete's likeness from photographs is more time efficient?
Work smarter, not harder.
<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:ApplyBreakingRules/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:UseFELayout/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]-->
Smarter = facial/head scan (more accurate, more realistic). Do it once, and you don't have to spend more time each year trying to retouch player's faces because they're accurate.
Harder = trying to create a likeness from scratch using available photographs (less accurate, absolutely more time consuming). Every year, I would assume the graphic artist goes through the faces and do touch ups.
"In order for an artist to go ahead and use any avaialbe photoreference that we have, it would take them approximately 6 days to create a likeness. Now we get an automated result in 45 minutes. It's really cut our time spend down, but at the same time exponentially increase our quality." NBA LIVE 15.

Its a difference of 15 to 25 if they actually do every player on an NBA roster.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Well....if we're going to get technical....it's closer to 15 to 43...since The Show has about 40 real players per team and another 120 on the FA list.
But who's counting?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
But there cant be more than 25 on the major league team at one time. NBA can have 15 players 13 of which can be available to play per game.
Either way they should still make scans for all players.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Who the heck knows which 25 make it in time for scans though?
Regardless.....you said it's more like 15-25....it's still 15-40(I'll give you the FA list)
MLB can have 40 players....25 of which can be available to play per game.
(the game ships with about 40 real players per team)

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Just on the record....if they could head scan everyone....have at it!
But realistically.....that's over 1000 players.
That's a great job by 2K though.. ...450(close to it)...is impressive.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Idk how long it takes to do one player. But if they could take the equipment needed to spring training maybe it could be done. Half the teams are just a few hours away in Arizona. And idk how other teams are but KC and Texas are in the same facility making it a bit easier.Comment
