No way to change to 4-3 defense on Patriots

So I decided to start an offline CFM with the Patriots and do a fantasy draft. I drafted defensive players that fit the 4-3 scheme, and I ensured I used a 4-3 playbook as well as the "Attacking 4-3" defensive scheme.

The problem is that no matter what, it always chooses a 3-4 defense when you get into a game, and it doesn't let you change it.

It didn't matter which playbook I used or changed to, it only let me run 3-4.

Has anyone else run into this?

Nope. Started as the Jets, default 3-4 and NYJ playbook. I was able to switch everything scheme wise to 4-3 as well as the playbook.

Ok so maybe it's just the Patriots.

I assume it's safe to say that if the default scheme they use is Attacking 4-3 then their default playbook should also be 4-3 based, but just to be safe I changed it to the "4-3" playbook and this didn't have an effect.

It's frustrating.

Even if you check/change it in the play screen before you go to a game it still loads the 3-4?

have u tried going changing the playbook for the game? instead of pressing ok to start the game go to settings and you can pick an offensive and defensive playbook. same place as where u change uniforms.

Once you change it in advanced settings, it will keep the new playbook there by default. Though if it is like last year, you *do* have to go to advanced settings before each game even though you just click okay.

Funny how the UI and franchise/dynasty settings were much better 4-5 years ago -- faster, quicker, more options, laid out more intuitively. Each year EA makes the UI worse.

They play a Hybrid. If you look at their roster it better fits a 4-3 scheme bc you have only 1 good (inside) MLB in Mayo, the next guy on your roster is like a 60-something overall.

I like to play a hybrid defense & that's why I chose Pats. But they need more pieces before I'll feel comfortable running any 3-4 schemes.

I played a game earlier with a custom 4-3 defensive playbook and it still showed a 3-4 lineup during the game.

Try to pick 4-3 as your default playbook in the main menu settings page (the same place where you pick game speed, qtr length, etc). These choices will carry over to CFM as well.
