Re: Metro Redux
I gotta say...
3 chapters in (to 2033) and I'm really impressed. Haven't been this captivated by a FPS since Bioshock: Infinite.
There's a good ratio of plot/combat/stealth here. Along with some mysteriousness too!
Exploring the semi-open outside environments are exhilarating. I'm playing on normal/survival and knowing that I NEED to check every nook and cranny for materials, while not knowing WHAT'S lurking around me, provides a wonderful sense of tension and fear.
The stealth sections are a little tough to get through undetected. I actually have to do some research to see if it's possible to clear these parts unnoticed. But what is there, even though I generally only only get about half way through before getting spotted, is fun and rewarding.
The monsters also seem to take an absurd amount of shots to put down. Fortunately, I discovered last night that at least in the early sections, you can stealth kill some of them so that definitely helps.
I hoping to find a silenced weapon soon. That or some more throwing knives as some sections just seem to be inundated with things that need to die. Some long distance silent options would go a long way in helping me.
So far, I'm really really impressed with how much I'm enjoying this game. If anyone has any tips to share, especially regarding stealth and long range stealth weapons, I'd be eager to read them.
