If it was only one game then don't sweat it. I just threw a 3 interception game with flacco. It happens sometimes.

Deep out or quick out?

The deep out is one of the hardest and most dangerous passes to throw, both in Madden and in real life. Teams are calling fewer and fewer out routes because of this. Personally I love them and if my WR has a favorable matchup I throw the deep out frequently. It is not broken but you have to be careful.

Works better in off coverage. Before snapping always use coach stick and check the route running number. If it is negative, you don't want to throw the deep out (especially vs man coverage). Also helps to have a speed edge, but route running is more important. When it comes to actually throwing the pass, timing is key. Unload a bullet pass as the WR makes his cut (not before as you would with most routes as this does not give the WR enough room to gain separation). And lead him to the sideline. You may sail a few passes into the sidelines but that is fine. Throw the ball somewhat high to further guard against the DB jumping the route. final guideline, don't throw the deep out if your QB has less than 94 arm strength (can't remember what Tom has). There are a few other things, such as where the WR is lined up, but it is not necessary to know.

Quick outs are different and can be just as risky. Absolutely necessary that the CB is playing off by more than 5 yards. If he is (either single high safety or cover 4 alignment) find the flat defender. If it is the SS or a LB aligned above the LOS the throw should be there. If it is a inside corner or a LB playing on the edge of the line abort the pass.
