The Streak Lives On: Houston Improve To 5-0 With 31-24 Win Over Dallas
AP Dallas -- The
Houston Texans continued their impressive start to the season under 1st year head coach
Bill O'Brien with a 31-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
After falling behind 14-0 halfway thorugh the first quarter, the Texans answered back with a Randy
Bullock field goal and a
Ryan Mallett touchdown pass to
DeAndre Hopkins to bring them within four points. Mallett came in and replaced starter
Ryan Fitzpatrick who had to leave the game with broken ribs. The former Razorback had a pretty decent outing completing 14-of-23 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns.
Even though
Tony Romo, who played great with 260 yards passing and 3 total touchdowns, the Cowboys defense failed to show up like they've failed to do the first four weeks of the season. Dallas had a balanced attack of passing and rushing with over 160 yards on the ground but it still wasn't enough. Now sitting at 0-5, some big changes could happen if the team doesn't turn things around.
Arian Foster had another great outing with 121 yards rushing and a touchdown. All pro wide receiver
Andre Johnson continued to show the league that he's still one of the best receivers playing hauling in 10 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side
Brian Cushing led the team with 8 tackles and 2 sacks while
J.J. Watt had another 2 sack performance to go along with 7 tackles, 4 which went for a loss.
The Texans will now have a short week as they will head to Indy to take on AFC South foe the
Indianapolis Colts for a Thursday night game.
