Re: Another Hands On Preview
Who is this guy? Is he known in the video game community? I only trust OS vets opinions not some guy I never heard of. Take it with a grain of salt I guess.chuckcross.bandcamp.com

Re: Another Hands On Preview
This is one thing that's kind of puzzling. I know one thing they put an emphasis on this year was responsiveness, so I'm curious to see more on this. He mentioned stealing being random, but only refers to on-ball steals (which shouldn't happen often--glad to hear he got a bunch of reaching calls lol); he didn't mention trying to jump the passing lane for a steal.
I saw an off ball swat in that short OKC video, so I think passing lane defense has been fixed...
It's puzzling to me too, but hopefully there's just a learning curve...adding a bunch of new animations for contact makes no difference if contact in the paint can't be initiated consistently...which was one of my main gripes last year...Comment

Re: Another Hands On Preview
Also, when he was talking about getting calls for reach in fouls, he's probably one of those guys who press full court spamming the steal button lolComment

Re: Another Hands On Preview
They need to show the game. The easy offense and defense is a problem with EA. So the guy is more than likely right. Every user plays the game different, but still in 14 it doesn't matter. This is probably a legacy issue EA has yet to fix. Still getting the game though, just not spending $60 on it.Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Hands-On Preview (iDigitalTimes)
If the game plays well, why not release some gameplay videos? Basically, 2 1/2 weeks before the launch and no regular gamer has seen a video?! Not one. Nothing on the net, nothing? Too close to the vest."I've Altered The Deal..."Comment

Postgame And Halftime Shows Have Promise:
Many praises went to Madden 15’s handling of the Halftime and Postgame shows. NBA Live tries to harness the same greatness from the football game and is pretty close to matching it. EA Sports has hired the talent of MIke Breen, Jeff Van Gundy and Jalen Rose to do the analysis for the game.
However, for the halftime and postgame it’s only Jalen Rose speaking throughout. From the version that I played, there was a lot of ‘dead air’ throughout, which was unfortunate considering how great it looks. Imagine you are watching Sportscenter, the rundown on the side is present so you know what they will talk about. And the postgame gives you options to see how each player or team shot in each quarter with a complete shot chart, which was really cool.
Looking forward to a legitimate halftime and postgame show from at least one basketball game this year. "To buy or not to buy?", that is the question a demo would answer. EA, unleash the beast.Comment

I am looking forward to this title especially if you reach to much you get a foul called. Hello, this is basketball and those are professionals, you aren't going to steal the ball by just reaching aimlessly. I do also like the fact that the controls are simple enough to pick up and play but the defense is more difficult so the truly talented will be able to separate themselves from the rest. Waiting on the EA access copy before I pre-order though, but this should be the one to get.Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Hands-On Preview (iDigitalTimes)
They need to tie-in the ragdoll physics into the foul calling.
If you go into the lane and get hit, call a foul.
In Live 10 you could get your head taken off in the paint and no call would be made.
And I'm not sure what the fuss about lack of defense is about. Live never had any solid defensive controls. They've always fell short in that area.
Smart defensive rotations and proper defensive rebounding can makeup for some of those shortcomings if implemented correctly.Comment

the very first thing I'm doing in this game, the very first thing I'm doing is putting this game on superstar. well that's after the practice shoot around while the game is loading. superstar only. I don't want to deal with any handicaps for the sake making the game easier. superstar from day 1Comment

Foul calling and in game injuries as well. If you jump in mid-air and some one comes down and knocks you down in mid-air there's a chance you can get injured. I want see this aspect of the game moving forward. Since it seems that their rag-doll physics take into account a player's hand momentum and the collision between body parts, you can determined if a player gets hurt by how much force the player gets hit with different parts of their body.Comment
