    Swansea City buyers complete takeover

In a recent series of events, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amoudi has completed his takeover of the Welsh Club Swansea City FC. Sheikh Mohammed now holds 56% of the shares. He has stated in an open letter to the fans that he is determined to turn Swansea City into a powerhouse and thus create a lasting dynasty.

Sheikh Mohammed already made an impact by stumping up £50m to be used on transfers. He also brought in a new manager on the back of the takeover.

The new manager goes by the name of Leonard Prince. The 42 year old manager hails from the City of London and has been making a name for himself by producing talents in the Southampton FC youth acadamy such as Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Calum Chambers.

"Prince has been given full control when it comes to decisions concerning the football team itself. We shall only acquire the players he wants. We trust him to have a plan and we shall not interfere in the football side of things. We expect him to win trophies but we will be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day." Said Sheikh Mohammed.

Win for Manchester United on opening day

A sad start to the match for Swansea City as Quintero suffered a season-ending injury as he tore his ACL in the second minute of the game. Not much later, Rooney got the first big opportunity of the match but failed to snatch it. Manchester United was dominating the game throughout the first half, although Swansea City had a few shots but none of those were good enough to really test DeGea. The second half was just as dull as the first, with nothing much really happening until in the 77th minute Di Maria got sent into space and laid it off to Van Persie who just had to put the ball into the back of the net. Swansea immediatly responded with a beautiful cross from Arsenal loanee Calum Chambers right onto the head of Gylfi Sigurdsson, but he failed to even the score as his header hit the crossbar. The game ended with a 1-0 victory for Manchester United.

          Van Persie 77'

New Swansea City signing Juan Fernando Quintero out for 7 months with a torn ACL

In a collision with Manchester United player Phil Jones, Juan Fernando Quintero has torn his ACL. He is expected to be fully cleared from his injury in April, making this season one to forget for him.

Yeah, definitely. It was fun controlling him for the one virtual minute he was able to play. Oh well, it's a headache not having him but it's realistic, these things happen IRL too. Good thing it happened after one minute though, now I have no idea how my team would play with him so I don't really miss him.

New Swansea City signing scores last minute winner

In matchday two of the English Premier League, we saw Swansea City hosting Burnley FC at the Liberty Stadium. The Liberty Stadium side came out the gates red hot, immediatly forcing Burnley to drop back and only think about defending. Even though Burnley got smothered, both teams went into the half at a 0-0 score. The second half started good for Burnley as they managed to create a few opportunities. In the 49th minute Michael Kightly opened the score as he headed in a cross coming off Sam Vokes' right foot. Swansea City seemed devastated and it took them until the 65th minute to get their act together. From there on out Swansea City started pressing Burnley, resulting in a Wilfried Bony equalizer in the 69th minute. In the last few minutes, we saw what this Welsh side is capable of as Ki back-heeled it to Bony who then beautifully played it in between two defenders to meet an on-running Thiago who neatly finished. The Liberty Stadium erupted and it seems like the new boy is already a fan favourite. The game ended in a 2-1 victory for Swansea City over Burnley.

Swansea City AFC 2 - 1 Burnley FC
                W. Bony 69', Thiago 90' - M. Kightly 50'

I could honestly watch that Bony through ball on the winner over and over and over again... sublime pass.

I'll briefly take the negative side and say that was a soft opening goal!

Now for the positive side...I loved that winner. You were knocking on the door in the last couple mins of the game and were always going to find a winner.

Well done and congrats on the first win of your career!

Two in a row for Swansea City

In match day three of the season, West Bromwich Albion had to travel Southwest to visit Swansea City. Both teams started the game very offensively. Ideye tested Fabianski within five minutes with a driven low shot. Not long after that, Sigurdsson managed to free up Thiago by a cheeky pass who failed to finish as he hit the post. Both teams managed to create a few opportunities but none of them were able to finish until Sigurdsson freed himself up inside the box and put the 1-0 on the scoreboard just before the half. The baggies came out the second half looking for the equalizer but they kept messing up their chances. In the 75th minute, Ki played a gorgeous over the top through ball towards Dyer who simply put it in the top left corner. Final score: 2-0 to the Swans.

Swansea City off to good start as they win third consecutive game

Earlier today we saw Swansea City hosting Southampton at the Liberty Stadium. Within the first fifteen minutes there were plenty of chances for both teams. Soon after those first fifteen minutes it was all Swansea and no Southampton. The first goal came off the foot of Wilfried Bony who found himself on the end of a long ball by Ki. The second half started bad for Swansea as their own Jordi Amat accidentally deflected a ball into his own goal. The Swans didn't take long to respond as Sigurdsson made his second goal of the season. In the final minutes we saw Bony securing the victory by scoring his second goal of the game. Final score: 3-1.
