Crimson Down Big Red
Strong 2nd Half Pushes Harvard Past Cornell, 47-21

Ithaca, NY - Jeff Witt threw 4 1st Half INTs to help keep Cornell in the game today. Thankfully the Big Red were only able to convert a couple of those into 14 points. Witt did manage to sprinkle in a 26 yard TD pass to Matt Luft and Gino Gordon added a TD run to give us a 14-14 tie headed into the lockerroom. A good old fashioned *** chewing and a not so subtle reminder to our OC about running the ball helped get things turned around in the 2nd half. Gino ended the day with 241 yards and 3 scores on 25 carries and freshman Adam Price added 41 yards on 12 carries of his own as we scored 17 points in the 3rd and 16 more in the 4th to ice the game away. Cornell threw the ball all over hell, but they didn't do much of anything else. Our defense recorded 8 sacks, held the Big Red to negative yards rushing, and JB Monu returned a fumble for a TD to cap things off. The win moves us to 5-2 on the season and a perfect 2-0 in the Ivy. We finally get to play a game at home next week when we host Yale. It will only be the 2nd time in Harvard Stadium this year and the 1st since way back in Week 3. Thanks for following! Go Crimson!"
