Harbaugh is likely to be an attractive coaching possibility for the Raiders and Chicago Bears, if he decides to remain in the NFL. On Sunday, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross announced coach Joe Philbin will return next season. The 49ers (7-8) will miss out on the playoffs for the first time under Harbaugh. The 49ers went to the NFC Championship game in each of Harbaugh's first three seasons, including a trip to Super Bowl XLVII, where the 49ers lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
