Icon6 Re: Buck Up! - Milwaukee Bucks -

A look at the Bucks offseason

Signings

Kobe Bryant (SG) - 38 Years Old - Lower Merion (HS) - 6'6 205 LBS
Kobe Bryant in Milwaukee?! It seems that the pitch of leading Milwaukee to the promised land was a bit too enticing for the hall of famer, as he accepted a one year deal to come off the bench in Milwaukee. Los Angeles allowed him to leave surprisingly and the young Bucks could definitely use his mentorship in the locker room with so many young players on the roster. He's a shell of what he once was, but he is a fierce competitor and the four million they spent on him won't hurt at all. Especially since he can float to the three and help out there as well.

Drafting

Pat Stribling (PG) 6'5 202 LBS Georgia Tech
Pat Stribling was high on the Bucks list, mainly as they seek a guard rotation with Rondo quickly starting to dip talent wise, and Stribling should immediately split time with Andrew Harrison. Stribling is a defensive forte and a penetrating guard, his shot isn't very effective but his defense is excellent and he's a good penetrator.

Howie Miller (SG) 6'3 193 LBS Texas
Howie is another shooter to come off the bench, his mid range is his forte and he needs a good amount of work from beyond the arc and that will be a likely focus for him as he matures, but he will hit from inside the arc almost efortlessly. His defense is also very good.

Carl Pearson (C) 7'3 277 LBS Southern Illinois
The Bucks needed a back up for Willie Cauley-Stein and they got one in Pearson, he is a great scorer inside of the paint but isn't good at much else, his defense is weak and despite his size he struggles with rebounds. He is a raw project and wasn't meant to fight for a starting spot, but he will be a good back up in due time.

Richie Nichols (PF) 6'9 235 LBS Syracuse
Looks like a season of watching from the best seats in house for Nichols, he is extremely raw and really won't make much if any contribution this season if this team is half as good as it looks on paper.

Chip Barnes (SF) 6'8 232 LBS Texas A&M
Barnes was drafted for one specific reason and that was his unmatched athleticism, a blur on the court and can sky with the best of them, sadly outside of being a terror on the rim, he isn't a very good shooter and his defense is average at best. He needs to study the game, but he is a project player and that's a good spot for this team as they can afford to allow him to learn.
