I use 15 minute quarters with acc. play clock down to 11 seconds. That does not give much time for adjustments but it keeps the clock moving. The actual average number of plays in 1989 was 126 I believe.

Not sure if you have tried my sliders but I tend to get pretty good results with them, at least on Play Now games. I have not had much time to play CCM with this roster yet. I set up the league but that is about as far as I have gotten with it. Anyway, I am not sure how my sliders compare to SECELIT3's, but I get pretty good comp% and a solid, though not too easy run game. I have had a really good variety of games with this roster and my sliders so far.
