What if a football game was a combination of APF/Backbreaker

Both games had their strengths and weaknesses, whats would you combine from each to make a great football game?

Only things I would take from BB would be player interactions aka physics and team customization.

I loved how Backbreaker looked. The atmospherics of it I'm talking. It didn't look cartoonish or fake like some other sports games. It felt like there was actual depth when looking across a stadium, looking into the lights felt like you were looking up in a stadium into real lights, that type of thing.

I liked the nontraditional franchise elements in BB. Interesting wrinkle in the usual formula.

Since joining Zynga I haven't noticed much going on with Natural Motion's middleware and all their case studies are for last gen.

I'd like to see back breakers physics layered on top of 2ks animations. 2k had some really great animations from WR/DB interaction to line play. Putting physics on top of that to take into consideration height, weight, momentum, and strength would be football videogame nirvana for me.

Pretty sure natural motion is a European developer hence the relegation aspect of road to back breaker, definitly a great idea. I loved not only having to worry about winning championships but also trying to move up to better leagues.

They are, just not sure their tech is as attractive under the Zynga umbrella. Their only representation on the year-old current gen consoles is the GTA V port.

Surprised we haven't had a new tackle alley with Zynga's struggles. Modernize and reissue it for some easy dough.

yes i agree with you 100 percent. that would be a perfect marriage. Natural motion through BB was the first to bring true physics to a football game. BB was not a full fledged football game. it was a tech demo to show off natural motion's physics. so when looking at BB you cant look at it as a football game per se but as a physics engine with football wrap around it. do know that Natural motion and the euphoria engine was bought out by Zynga and now Zynga is partnered up with the Unreal 4 engine and is now embedded within that engine.

The presentation and x's and o's of APF and the physics and graphics of Back Breaker. It would be a great game.

It would still need a franchise mode.

Backbreaker put a pretty cool spin on a franchise mode with road to Backbreaker but I agree a traditional franchise mode would be a must.

BackBreaker is fun. Much like APF, however, it is quite bare-boned. Some of the missing elements in this game are a little perplexing. Although either of the football games are my favorites.

Why do you feel Backbreaker was bare boned?
