The Owl offense was clicking on all cylinders again this week. Almost 500 yards of total offense, 314 yards on the ground, and a more efficient passing game. The Owls had two rushing touchdowns from receivers, and spread the ball out really well. The defense played a lot better. They were getting to the quarterback more, and forced 5 turnovers. 4 were interceptions. Cre'Von LeBlanc had two of those, and Damian Parms took his for a big touchdown that made the game a two score game in the 4th quarter. Despite a few big runs, they were able to contain Marlon Mack. He had a 50 yard run but other than that he was shut down for the most of the game.
This isn't the image Owl fans want to see, Jaquez Johnson is out for 3 weeks after a shoulder injury.
The injury bug has bit the Owls this game. In the first half Jaquez Johnson was injured getting thrown to the ground after he completed a pass. He will be out for 3 weeks after an injury to his shoulder and should be ready to play in a big conference matchup against Marshall. Then freshman receiver playmaker Trey Rodriguez was injured and will be out for two with a back issue. The worst of them all will be running back committee leader Jay Warren is out for the season with a broken elbow.
