May 25th, 2015: Nationals @ Cubs

Chicago (AP)-

The Cubs were able to get to Tanner Roark early on in the game and forced Roark out of the game after 4 innings pitched. He gave up 8 hits and two walks and four runs. On the other end of the mound was Cubs pitcher Jon Lester, Lester went just over 6 innings and struck out 10, though he did give up 7 hits and walked three.

It wasn't Lester's best performance, but it got the job done. He was relieved by Justin Grimm who took the first step towards a bigger role again as he got one of the two batters he was assigned.

The momentum change went in favor of the Cubs after Wilson Ramos got thrown out at the plate in the top of the 3rd inning after Michael Taylor doubled and Ryan Zimmerman had already scored. Ramos was by 10 yards and it would end the inning. The Cubs next batter to the plate would be Anthony Rizzo who would drive a ball the opposite way over the left field fence for a home run.

The Cubs look to continue their hot hitting with one of the National's aces Max Scherzer on the hill in the next game.

Post Game Roster Moves
Phil Coke was officially released by the Cubs and is free to sign with other teams.
